If you've ever donated to a Kickstarter campaign, you might have noticed that they tend to have a few delays. And by that I mean assume that there will be delays - just ask anyone who waited for Star Command. Detective Grimoire is in a similar position, coming to Android almost a year and a half after its "estimated delivery," but it looks like the wait has been worth it.

It was only three months ago that Android got SEGA's latest entry in the obligatory kart racing genre, Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing. Now the sequel, which came out a year later on the consoles, has graced our platform only a day behind iOS. But don't reach for your wallets just yet: there are some serious issues with Sonic Racing Transformed that might mean it's not worth the $5 entry fee.

We featured the DraStic Nintendo DS emulator way back when it launched and came away impressed. Version 2.2 of the app is probably the biggest update yet, adding a host of forward-looking features that should improve both performance and overall gaming satisfaction. Android 4.4 users in particular will be happy to hear that DraStic now supports Android Runtime (ART).

Those of you with a MOGA controller can now use it natively with DraStic, no root or workaround required.

Here we are six months along and it can no longer be said that the device is still too new to judge. There have been OS updates, new games, and feature tweaks. So is the Ouya a better gaming experience now?

The Amazon Appstore hasn't exactly grown to rival Google Play in size or overall quality, but there's still some cool stuff over there. And if you can get it for free? That's a pretty good deal. Amazon is offering $5 to spend on apps and all you have to do is download something.

It's time for a good old fashioned non-denominational holiday celebration here at Android Police HQ. What better way to celebrate the season than with some apps and games – and at reasonable prices. The holidays are expensive enough without paying full price for apps, right?
