Are you ready to fight for the Imperium? Well, now you can with the new Warhammer 40k: Storm of Vengeance on Android. This game has all the pieces of Warhammer – space marines, big explosions, and so on. Though, the gameplay isn't what fans were expecting. This is a "lane-based strategy" game.
Look, this story is about 450 words long. But you don't have time for all that. Here's the skinny: if you fancy yourself a fan of strategy games, and if you've got a reasonably powerful Android machine with about 4GB of free space, aaaaand you don't mind paying ten bucks for a mobile version of a game that was fifty bucks when it debuted two years ago, then you should go buy XCOM: Enemy Unknown right now.
Sometimes there are a lot of sales and other times only a few. It's not the number of sales that matters, though. It's about the quality. Today's sales are of extremely high quality, so it's time to get that wallet out.
The seas are beautiful and deadly in Chillingo's new game Abyss Attack. All the creatures in the deep are out to get you, and all you have for defense is a heavily armed submersible. Although, you are sort of shooting everything in sight. It's possible the luminous sea life is just defending itself, you monster.
This is a top-down scrolling shooter with an array of glowing creatures, some of which can fire projectiles, and others that simply try to swarm you.
The latest Humble Bundle was already a great deal with the likes of The Room Two and Carcassonne up for grabs. We knew more titles were coming, and here they are. The Humble Bundle blog now lists Paper Monsters, R-Type, and Enviro-Bear 2010 as part of the Humble Mobile Bundle 5.
All three titles are in the locked tier that you only get for paying over the average. As of right now, that is at $5.14, but it's only going to go up the longer you wait.
The week is just starting, but the app sales are already going strong. I could talk to you all day about the virtues of buying apps and games on sale and being a thrifty consumer, but then some of the sales might be over. There are a ton of deals, so let's just get to it.
Welcome to the latest entry in our Bonus Round series, wherein we tell you all about the new Android games of the day that we couldn't get to during our regular news rounds. Consider this a quick update for the dedicated gamers who can't wait for our bi-weekly roundups, and don't want to wade through a whole day's worth of news just to get their pixelated fix. Today we've got a Lego game that's even cuter than ordinary Lego games, a Worms clone with some options, and an interesting mix of real-time strategy and lane defense.
For a game with the word "racing" in the title, there's very little of it to be found in Smash Bandits Racing. This title is all about outrunning the cops and destroying as much roadside property in the process as possible. The more you smash, the more you earn. The more you earn, the better your car. That's pretty much all there is to the premise, and that's okay. This visually pleasing top-down racer doesn't need much else.
One of the most iconic games of the late 90s has finally come to Android. Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition re-launched on iOS a few months ago, but it was a rocky ride as licensing issues nearly killed the game. Now Android users get the chance to spend $9.99 to relive the glory days of Dungeons & Dragons-style computer RPGs.
Baldur's Gate is an epic RPG set in the Forgotten Realms.
