Endless runners and Tetris clones are two game genres that are sure to elicit a yawn from most seasoned mobile gamers, but what if you had both in one game... at the same time? You've just imagined Hazumino, a new side-scrolling runner on Android. Not only do you have to jump at the right time, you need to make sure there's something to jump on. Here, let this weird intro video tell the tale.
It's a good thing originality isn't a pre-requisite for a good game, otherwise there would be far less enjoyment to be had on our mobile devices. Heroes: A Grail Quest is yet another clone, this time inspired by Heroes of Might and Magic, but that shouldn't prevent it from being a fun little experience. Game Dev Team, aside from having perhaps the most straightforward and honest name in the industry, has also developed the moderately well-received Sky Aces series and a 3D RTS based on mechs.
Welcome to the latest entry in our Bonus Round series, wherein we tell you all about the new Android games of the day that we couldn't get to during our regular news rounds. Consider this a quick update for the dedicated gamers who can't wait for our bi-weekly roundups, and don't want to wade through a whole day's worth of news just to get their pixelated fix. Today we've got a gorgeous platformer, a humorous take on Puzzle Quest, a Flash mobile RPG, a spiritual descendant of Dig Dug, and the latest entry in the Dracula adventure series.
Diner Dash was one of the first incarnations of the modern casual game: simple mechanics that are easy to learn and hard to master. Wikipedia says that publisher PlayFirst has seen over 550 million downloads of the game in its various versions, to say nothing of sequels and spin-offs. That's probably why Glu Mobile, one of the more visible mobile game publishers, has snatched up the company. Glu's stock priced jumped 8% this morning on the announcement.
Bridge Constructor is a popular physics-based game that tasks players with - wait for it - building bridges (I know, I never would have guessed that one either) over various types of terrain. If the structure can survive the weight of traffic, you know you're doing it right. Now the game has received a sequel, Bridge Constructor Medieval, that takes the same concept and applies it several centuries in the past.
I hope you've been saving your pocket change in anticipation of some cool Android sales, because today is the day. Although, I'm not sure what you're going to do with the change. There's not a coin slot on your phone, so hopefully you have access to reliable banking. At any rate, your electronic money can be spent on the following things, which are cheaper than usual.

Android gamers now have access to Treehouse's Steam Greenlit game Dethroned. This competitive action RTS tasks players with building up a ragtag band of soldiers, throwing up suitable defenses, and raiding opponents with all the force pixelated heroes can muster. The experience sits somewhere between an RTS and tower defense game, and it comes with the expected emphasis on multiplayer.
Note, early access here means early beta, so expect this adventure to be a bit rough around the edges.
