Beautiful, Atmospheric Puzzle Game 'Prune' Springs Forth From The Play Store

Prune is a game about planting trees, and I'm sure you think that sounds super-duper boring, but it's really not. With a swipe you can plant a tree and watch it grow toward the light. Only with your careful pruning can it grow large enough to sprout flowers and unlock the next botanical challenge.

The Play Store Supports Fingerprint Purchase Authorizations In Android 6.0

Fingerprint reader support is one of the big pushes of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but it's not just limited to the lock screen. Google has an option in the Play Store to authorize app purchases with a fingerprint, which we first spotted in a teardown of the v5.9 client. Now it's live for 6.0 devices that have fingerprint readers like the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X.

TellTale's Tales From The Borderlands Finale Lands Tomorrow And Game Of Thrones Ends November 17th - Episode 1 Is Now Free

Are you enjoying TellTale's latest batch of episodic Android adventure games? Good. They're both coming to an end. For the moment, anyway - the first batch of Tales from the Borderlands episodes (based on and vastly improving the story behind 2K's Borderlands shooter series) is available in full on the PC and consoles right now, and the last episode is scheduled to hit the Android version tomorrow, October 22nd.

If you prefer fantasy to sci-fi, then the Game of Thrones series will end next month with its sixth episode. "The Ice Dragon" will release on all platforms on November 17th. Though TellTale has been putting its console and mobile releases closer and closer together for the last year or so, this will be the first time that an episode releases on Windows, consoles, Android, and iOS on the same day.

Cloud Chasers Takes You On A Randomly Generated Steampunk Journey Through The Desert

In Cloud Chasers, you must travel across a vast desert to reach the promised land beyond, but it won't be an easy journey. This steampunk-style world is filled with rough terrain and hostile robots, not to mention deserts are pretty inhospitable to begin with. This game also has a socially motivated message, but it's handled gently.

Sonic Dash 2, A Free Endless Runner Based On The Sonic Boom Franchise, Is Now Live In The Play Store

When the best thing that you can say about the latest crop of a long-running video game property is that "the tie-in children's TV show isn't completely terrible," it's not a ringing endorsement. Such is the case with Sonic Boom: after nearly two decades of hit-and-miss remixes on the familiar Sonic formula, SEGA hit a real stinker with the almost universally-reviled Wii U/3DS dual release last year. The "hip" new designs for Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and the rest of the gang might have been forgiven if the game itself hadn't been one of the worst entries in Sonic's 24-year catalog.

It's odd, then, that SEGA is continuing the "Sonic Boom" label with its latest mobile game, instead of relying on the tried-and-true classic version of sonic that appeals to the nostalgia crowd.

NBA 2K16 Is Now Available In The Play Store For Eight Bucks, With In-App Purchases And Weird Compatibility

As a die-hard and stubborn football fan, I know nothing about basketball except that you have to bounce the round thing on the floor at regular intervals. But I do know quite a bit about Android gaming, like the fact that a $7.99 game that includes up to twenty bucks in in-app currency purchases will be dismissed out of hand by both frugal free-to-play gamers and traditionalists who prefer to pay once for the full experience. So prolific publisher 2K Games is getting the worst of both worlds with the pricing structure of NBA 2K16.

The latest yearly roster update of the NBA game that doesn't come from EA includes a full version of the MyCareer mode from the console games, which was apparently lacking in previous releases.
