Attention marine, there's a war to be fought, and those orcs aren't going to just kill themselves. Oh... but, did you bring any money? Because we're going to need that. What? Chainsword fuel is expensive. But in seriousness, we were in need of a more traditional Warhammer game after the tower defense-style Storm of Vengeance came out, and Carnage might be it.

Forget modern day racing. As dangerous as getting behind the wheel of a car going over 200mph in an oval may be, it doesn't compare to hopping on the back of a chariot being dragged by speeding horses and attacked by spiked wheels. When stepping up to the challenge, planning is every bit as important as fortitude, which is why Qvadriga is as much a strategy game as it is a racing one.

Lo, and then the lord did tap the touchscreen interface and cause great mountains to rise up from the landscape. Then with a swipe and a tap, the lord did create all the creatures of the land. Following all that, the lord made the sky purple, just because, for this god is a confusing and temperamental god. This and so much more is what awaits you in Topia World Builder, which has just hit Android after a good long run on iOS.

Clash of Clans fans will find a lot of familiarity in Boom Beach, a similar title from Supercell with more conventional characters and weapons. This tower defense and tower attack game has become popular very quickly on iOS, and now it's available on Android... if you happen to be in Finland or Germany. (A limited geographical rollout is typical for testing.) If you've got access to this early version of the game, have fun: it's a free download.

Full disclosure: I'm not a fan of Cartoon Network's current lineup. I exited the channel's target demographic when Dexter's Laboratory and Ed, Edd & Eddy went off the air, and more recent fare like Adventure Time is just unintelligible garbage to my jaded adult eyes. But if you enjoy the recent stuff, and you'd like to watch them all play a game of soccer in a thinly-disguised World Cup tie-in, then Superstar Soccer is the game for you.

You're going to want to drop what you're doing right now and get ready to spend a little cash. And I do mean little. These are good sales on some great apps and games.

Developer Halfbrick, the creator of Fruit Ninja, is back with another mobile game to suck away your free time. Band Stars has nothing to do with slicing up perfectly good food. Instead you get some people together to form a band and you rock out. Keep rocking, and eventually you'll get good. After that, you will become a star and travel the world (if only real-life worked that way).

The game has plenty of band members to unlock, each of whom brings their own skills to the table.
