SEGA has a rich history of platfoming titles to draw upon as it makes the transition to mobile gaming. Alex Kidd. Sonic the Hedgehog. Nights. But one you might not have heard of is Hell Yeah!, a downloadable title from developer Arkedo Studio. After making waves on the PC and consoles last year, this tongue-in-cheek gorefest has been adapted into what might just be the strangest endless runner on Android.
You play as Ash, spawn of the Dark One, prince of Hell, and somehow, also a rabbit skeleton. Read More
In Headup Games' latest release, Shiny The Firefly must fight his way through a picturesque garden in search of his lost children. Join Shiny as he fights, flies, and hides from a variety of enemy garden dwellers. This game's rich animation includes detailed movements for all the characters, as well as numerous animations that let you know how Shiny is feeling. Gameplay includes both fights and problem solving. The original House of the Dead (and its sequels) is one of my absolute favorite arcade shooters of all time. And House of the Dead: Overkill brought a whole new experience to the franchise, with more dynamic characters and full-on adult content (we're talkin' drug use, strippers, and more f-bombs than Pulp Fiction can shake a stick at). Needless to say, it's a fantastic rail shooter.
For those who have longed for more HotD action, Sega just pushed Overkill: The Lost Reels to the Play Store. Read More
I had a revelation last year: when it comes to my favorite superheroes, I'm a big fan of the "normal" guys who just have lots of money and gadgets. That's not to say that Wolverine, Thor, and the like aren't complete and total badasses, but there's just something to be said for millionaire philanthropists looking for a bit of vigilante justice.
For those who may be outside the super hero loop (way outside of it), I'm referring to Batman and Iron Man. Read More
Ah, free to play games: they really do seem to be taking the world by storm. Sort of like zombies. So it makes sense for a game in which kill horde upon horde of the walking dead to be free to play... or something. Anyway, Zombie HQ is a fairly popular game on iOS, and the developers just dropped an Android version on the Play Store.
Zombie HQ is a game in which you shoot zombies. Read More
I spent many an hour at my trusty Nintendo 64 playing RE-VOLT as a kid, and when I heard an Android port was released, I just handed over my money without question.
Now, you may say "a racing game on Android? A port of one? Sounds like a lot of potential for terrible awfulness there, David" ... and you'd be right. There is a lot of potential for a lot of terrible awfulness. Read More
Playing emulated games on Android is something of a "don't ask, don't tell" affair when it comes to obtaining system BIOS files and such. Cloanto, owners of the Amiga OS license, though, have decided that you no longer should have to scrounge for the appropriate pieces to get Amiga emulation up and running on your device. The company released an app today called Amiga Forever Essentials, which is not only a mouthful, but a complete package of Amiga system ROMs for your enjoyment. Read More
If cartoony tower defense is your thing and you haven't yet bought into the Fieldrunners franchise, you're missing out on some of the best TD action you can get your hands on. Colorful, fun, and graphically pleasing, Fieldrunners is a breath of fresh air in an otherwise tired gaming genre. And today, the sequel hit the Play Store.
Fieldrunners 2 brings even more guns, bombs, lasers, and other deadly tools to the scene, while still keeping that same familiar look and feel that made the original such a fantastic game. Read More
If you're a fan of the top-down zombie carnage free-for-all that is Dead on Arrival, good news: N3V Games just opened registration for the private beta of the game's sequel – the appropriately named Dead on Arrival 2.

You're a dick. I mean, in this game. Well, you could be a dick in real life, for all I know, but that's not what we're talking about. We're talking about phalluses. Why are we talking about phalluses? Because sometimes when we're trying to track down great games and apps for you guys to try, we accidentally stumble upon male genitalia. The Play Store is much like Chatroulette in that regard. Read More
