[New App] Relive The Glory Days Of 8-Bit Computing With Droid-CPC, An Amstrad CPC Emulator

I have a confession to make: most of the programs you might want to run on this emulator were written before I was born. But if you're the kind of seasoned geek who really did watch the original Star Wars in theaters (and watched it in Europe), you might just remember having an Amstrad brand computer in your basement. Developer Kokak (who we've featured before) has released Droid-CPC, a full emulator for the Amstrad line of PCs. If you've got program files, the emulator should be able to run them on most Android hardware.

Droid-CPC is particularly tuned for games, with a virtual keyboard and joystick, support for customized external gamepads, and an engine that should keep frame rates high (but not too high).

Fruit Ninja Free Gets Massive Update With Local Tablet Multiplayer, New Blades, New Backgrounds, And Yes, More Fruit

It's been quite a while since the Android version of HalfBrick's food murder simulator Fruit Ninja got a content update, but the dry spell ends today. The latest additions to the free app (and only the free app) include better support for Android tablets and a basket full of extra goodies. The most important bit is certainly the introduction of a local, single-device multiplayer mode, though you'll need a 7" or larger tablet to take advantage of it. Players slice fruit at the opposite ends of the screen to compete for a high score.

Official Man Of Steel Game Coming To Android On June 14th, And The String Of Beat-Em-Up Licensed Titles Continues

Superman and video games have a somewhat tenuous relationship. After Superman 64 became one of the biggest stinkers in console gaming history (so... many... rings...) it put a black mark on the last son of Krypton, and the subsequent games have never managed to escape its infamous shadow. The licensed game for the upcoming reboot Man Of Steel is trying to set a new standard for Superman games... and doesn't stand a Kryptonian's chance in Apokolips of actually achieving it. The game will have a simultaneous release with the movie on June 14th.

Man Of Steel takes the beat-em-up route seen with other licensed titles like The Avengers, Stargate, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and even Batman (who has some fantastic console games that the developers didn't even try to emulate).

Blowing stuff up is a classic gaming trope, but few series have done it as well, or as consistently as Serious Sam.
