[Bonus Round] Oh My Heroes, The Rockets, And Alien Apocalypse

Welcome to the latest entry in our Bonus Round series, wherein we tell you all about the new Android games of the day that we couldn't get to during our regular news rounds. Consider this a quick update for the dedicated gamers who can't wait for our bi-weekly roundups, and don't want to wade through a whole day's worth of news just to get their pixelated fix. Today we've got an online battler with the soul of a 2D side-scroller, a stylish silhouetted space shooter, and a rather typical (if flashy) 3D endless runner.

[New Game] Namco Takes Air Combat Intergalactic With Sky Gamblers: Air Supremacy

Namco-Bandai released Sky Gamblers: Rise Of Glory more than a year ago, and the WWI 3D air combat game was well-received. The sequel takes the setting to the near future with a mix of modern fighter jets and alien invaders. Sky Gamblers: Air Supremacy is definitely one of the most graphically-intensive entries in the admittedly small niche, and the loose arcade style is well-suited to touch controls.

The game isn't quite as sci-fi as the trailer on the Play Store suggests: when Air Supremacy launched on iOS 18 months ago (sigh), its primary campaign had you facing off against conventional air and ground targets.

[New Game] Those Raving Rabbids Make Their Android Gaming Debut In The Physics-Based Title 'Rabbids Big Bang'

When the Rabbids first appeared in Rayman Raving Rabbids for the Wii back in 2006, they were hilarious and even somewhat charming. There wasn't any depth to them, but there wasn't any depth to the game itself, so it was a perfect fit. Those obnoxious bunnies went on to shed their affiliation with Rayman and have since appeared in more games than their limbless friend. Now they're making their mobile debut with Rabbids Big Bang.

You knew this day would come. An asteroid is hurtling towards Earth, but before you ready those nukes, your job isn't to deflect it - it's to guarantee that it doesn't miss. In Massteroid, players take control of said asteroid and try to grow it as big as possible to inflict maximum destruction. But if you've learned anything from late 90s disaster films, Earth isn't going down without a fight. You must dodge unguided missiles, satellites, targeted ordinances, mines, and - wait for it - black holes.

[New Game] ARC Squadron: Redux Docks In The Play Store To Revive Your Star Fox Memories

Remember the first time you played Star Fox on your Super Nintendo? Remember how your mind was blown by 3D graphics and intuitive gameplay, so much so that you ignored the fact that woodland creatures were engaged in mortal space combat? I wish that I could say that ARC Squadron will rekindle that feeling. It won't. Nintendo made five more Star Fox games. This is the age of Facebook and in-app purchases.
