PSA: Games Purchased From The Gameloft Website Are Tied To The Device & Phone Number, Can't Be Transferred

Next time you want to purchase a game from Gameloft, you may want to pause and reconsider: their official policy is to tie app purchases to the device and phone number - and it's strictly enforced. We received an email from a peeved Gameloft customer who found this out the hard way, and we'd hate to see anyone else encounter the same (frankly ridiculous) issue.

Our tipster (George H.) switched from a MyTouch 4G to a G2x. Apps purchased from Gameloft through the Android Market redownloaded on his new device just fine. However, he couldn't download the games he'd purchased from the Gameloft web store, so he emailed support:

I just purchased a new Android phone and want to use all the software I previously purchased on my new phone.

Welcome to the weekly roundup of the best new Android applications, games, and live wallpapers that went live in the Market or were spotted by us in the previous week or so.

This week, I am trying something a little different due to complaints about the heavy weight of these roundups. There are now no usual app widgets, Appbrain widgets, barcodes, or embedded videos. There are also fewer screenshots - instead, I'm picking out only the most interesting ones.

Because there are no Appbrain widgets, I decided to include the current price for paid apps next to the Market link. Video links, when available, go to the same area.

[Upcoming] Three New Games Designed For Tegra Devices - Riptide GP, Galaxy On Fire 2, And Pinball HD

Yesterday we told you about an upcoming Tegra-specific game from Playbox called Bang Bang Racing. Today, we have a real treat for you - a sneak peak at three more upcoming games for Tegra devices that are sure to blow your mind (no less!).

The three titles in question are Riptide GP, a port of the popular aquatic racing game Hydro Thunder Hurricane; Galaxy on Fire 2, a space-based action RPG; and Pinball HD, a high-definition twist on an arcade classic.

Playbox's Bang Bang Racing Coming Soon To A Tegra Android Device Near You [Video]

Game development company Playbox has decided to jump into the world of Android gaming, given the power and presence of NVIDIA's Tegra 2 processor and its popularity in Android devices. The first of many games on the list to make its way to Tegra phones and tablets is Bang Bang Racing, which is currently available on both Playstation 3 and XBOX 360.

Bang Bang Racing looks like a super-awesome (and tiny) way to burn up the track, thanks to the dynamic environments and sharp graphics. It utilizes NVIDIA's PhysX technology to provide such a rich experience - just take a look:

The game will be available in the Market to Tegra-powered devices and showcased in NVIDIA's Tegra Zone app.

Easter Is Here! For Angry Birds, At Least

Yesterday we showed you the trailer for Angry Birds Seasons: Easter Eggs, noting that the expected update should hit the Market some time this week. I guess for Rovio Mobile, "some time this week" translates to "first thing Monday morning" - it's available for download now.

Rovio: Angry Birds Will Get Cross-Platform Syncing Before Summer

You know what I hate? Having to start over from the beginning of Angry Birds every time I flash a new ROM. I won't have to deal with that for much longer, though - according to the official Twitter page of Rovio Mobile, they're working on the greatest thing to happen to Angry Birds since the slingshot. Yes, I'm talking about syncing.

Once it's finished and unleashed to the world, each time you flash a new ROM, get a new device, or even switch platforms altogether (I'm looking at you iOS crossovers), you will be able to take all of your current bird tossing accomplishments with you.
