Bobsled users can now connect with friends from their Android-powered tablets, thanks to Vivox and T-Mobile. For the uninitiate, Bobsled is a service developed by T-Mobile (in collaboration with Vivox) which aims to let users connect to their friends via internet calling or messaging for free.

Bobsled's app allows users to log into Facebook and connect with anyone from their friends list at the touch of a button, allowing for chat, voice messaging, and calls to land lines or mobile phones in the US, Canada, or Puerto Rico.

Autodesk, a clear leader in 3D design software (particularly in the fields of architecture and construction), recently released Buzzsaw Mobile for Android to Google's Play Store, bringing the awesome cloud-based project sharing functionality of the corporation's original Buzzsaw service to the palm of your hand.

For those unfamiliar, Autodesk's Buzzsaw service essentially provides cloud-based sharing for design projects and files, allowing project stakeholders to sync and view designs, 3D models, and other relevant assets with ease.

When buying used phones off of eBay, Craigslist, or the like, a primary concern of anyone purchasing CDMA devices (Verizon, Sprint, Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile, etc.) is the status of the phone's ESN (electronic serial number). If a device's ESN is registered as "banned" on its carrier because it has been listed as stolen or is attached to an unpaid account, then that phone cannot be activated on said carrier. Thus, the phone is either useless or has to be activated on a pre-paid carrier, which is generally not all that desirable and drastically decreases a device's worth.

A flurry of cloud storage apps have hit the Play Store in recent days, with COMODO Security Solutions, Bitdefender, and Genie9 all releasing official cloud solutions. Each of the new apps puts its own twist on cloud storage, offering slightly different features, so it's worth looking at each individually.

COMODO Cloud

Comodo Security Solutions, a respected purveyor of desktop (and Android) security solutions, released COMODO Cloud to the Play Store just a couple of days ago, bringing a practical, thoughtful solution to those seeking an easy cloud syncing option.

Volume control on Android can be kind of a pain to manage, as there's multiple volume settings that need to be managed, but it's not always obvious what settings you're adjusting when. Slider Widget simplifies this process by placing all five independent volume controls, as wells a brightness control setting, on your homescreen in one convenient widget.

The widget not only displays what level the various settings are at, but gives the user a handy slider for adjusting each one without taking up a ton of space on the homescreen.

Seeking damages for California residents who have purchased defective Android apps and were disallowed a refund, Android users Dodd Harris and Stephen Sabatino are suing Google under the pretext that the search giant's 15-minute refund window is unfair.

The pair claim that Google's pocketing of a 30% commission on defective apps and denying a refund after 15 minutes is wrong, using the practices of other app stores (those run by Amazon and Apple) to illustrate their point.

A new Android Market Google Play Store v3.5.15 (an update to v3.4.7) is very slowly trickling through to Android users everywhere, and we managed to snag an APK you can download and install right now (thanks, Chad Winner!). After playing with it for a few minutes, the most obvious change is most definitely in the My Applications UI, although I did find a few more (thanks to everyone who helped out).

Jean-Sebastien Royer, a developer making his debut on Google's Play Store, recently released Kainy – an app that promises to allow users to stream games from their PC over a Wi-Fi, 3G, or 4G connection. The first problem that comes to mind with this concept is devising a cohesive and broadly applicable control scheme. Addressing that in perhaps the most logical (and ingenious) way possible, Kainy allows users to create customized control layouts for each game.

The team behind the awesome GO suite of apps have brought the functionality and style of GO Launcher to Android-powered tablets everywhere today (as long as they're running 3.0+), bringing GO Launcher HD out of beta. You may remember our beta coverage earlier this month, in which we got a sneak peak at GO's tablet launcher, and it looks like little has changed. For a launcher that aims to be minimally intrusive yet offer a ton of functionality, however, that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Sure, Hulu may still be struggling with supporting even a majority of Android devices, but who needs that mess when the CW has an app? Well, yes, people who want to watch shows by any of the other networks, but now all of the CW's top shows are available on (some of) your phones and tablets in their full-episode glory.

It's not quite the complete library experience we've all been hoping for that some shows occasionally get on Hulu or Netflix, but all of the 12 shows available come with 5 episodes each which, we assume, will be the five most recent episodes unless a show is on hiatus, as is the typical custom with most major streaming sources.
