<p>In Headup Games' latest release, Shiny The Firefly must fight his way through a picturesque garden in search of his lost children. Join Shiny as he fights, flies, and hides from a variety of enemy garden dwellers. This game's rich animation includes detailed movements for all the characters, as well as numerous animations that let you know how Shiny is feeling. Gameplay includes both fights and problem solving. You'll need to use various special skills to navigate the level: make a plant grow so it will divert a waterfall, shoot an enemy to make him shift his location, or simply keep pounding on a boss until you defeat him.<div class=clear></div> <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/04/25/new-app-headup-games-releases-the-bugtastic-shiny-the-firefly/" class="read_more"><div class=excerpt-end><img src=http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/themes/ap1/images/read_on.png /></div></a></p><div style='clear: both'><b>Done With This Post? <p>Well, it's that time again – time for the monthly update to Android's Platform Distribution Numbers. Each month, Google publishes the latest figures, letting developers know what versions of Android are currently dominating active devices.</p>
<p>This month, we're seeing a familiar pattern – Gingerbread is continuing its slow descent, hitting 39.8%, down from 44.2% this time <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/03/05/android-platform-numbers-for-february-13-are-in-gingerbread-down-to-44-2-ics-down-to-28-6-and-jelly-bean-up-to-16-5/">last month</a>. Meanwhile the latest and greatest – Jelly Bean – accounts for exactly 25% of the overall distribution, meaning it's finally hit one quarter of all tallied devices. That, for those interested, marks a nearly 9% jump from last month's 16.5% figure.</p>
<p><a href="http://cdn.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/nexusae0_image10.png"><img title="image" style="float: none; margin-left: auto; display: block; margin-right: auto" alt="image" src="http://cdn.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/nexusae0_image_thumb10.png" width="668" height="322"/></a></p>
<p>Ice Cream Sandwich is still strangely climbing, hitting 29.3% up from 28.6% in February.<div class=clear></div> <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/04/02/google-releases-android-platform-distribution-numbers-for-marchgingerbread-down-to-39-8-jelly-bean-hits-25/" class="read_more"><div class=excerpt-end><img src=http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/themes/ap1/images/read_on.png /></div></a></p><div style='clear: both'><b>Done With This Post? <p>With the end of another month comes a fresh batch of Android platform distribution numbers. Like clockwork, Google has once again updated their numbers, showing Gingerbread's cold, withered hand still holding almost 51% of the pie (though it's down from 54.2% in October), with Jelly Bean making gains to 6.7%, up 4% from <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/11/01/google-releases-octobers-android-platform-distribution-numbersjelly-bean-at-2-7-gingerbread-still-hanging-on-at-54/">last month</a>.</p>

<p>Predictably, Ice Cream Sandwich is still making some gains, rising about 2% to 27.5% from October, Honeycomb is holding tight at 1.6% with a mere 0.2% change for API level 13, and pre-2.3 releases are still dropping off (though Cupcake and Donut are still holding on for dear life).<div class=clear></div> <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/12/03/google-releases-novembers-platform-distribution-numbers-gingerbread-at-52-8-jelly-bean-up-to-6-7/" class="read_more"><div class=excerpt-end><img src=http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/themes/ap1/images/read_on.png /></div></a></p><div style='clear: both'><b>Done With This Post? <p>Once again and right on time, Google has released Platform Distribution numbers for Android, this time for the month of October. The numbers still show Gingerbread holding on at just over 54%, but Jelly Bean is gaining a little more ground at 2.7%, up 0.9% over the <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/10/01/google-updates-android-platform-distribution-numbers-jelly-bean-crawls-to-1-8-gingerbread-at-56/">previous month</a>.</p>
<p align="center"><a href="http://cdn.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/nexusae0_image6.png"><img style="display: inline" title="image" alt="image" src="http://cdn.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/nexusae0_image_thumb6.png" width="668" height="324"/></a></p>
<p>Again, the Gingerbread/Jelly Bean numbers are a bit disappointing considering the extremely small change from the previous cycle (a change of less than 1% for each), but it's worth noting that these numbers will (hopefully) be helped along by updates rumored to be <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/10/17/samsung-announces-jelly-bean-for-the-u-s-galaxy-s-iii-available-in-the-coming-months/">coming soon</a> (or those that <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/10/25/its-official-sprints-galaxy-s-iii-jelly-bean-upgrade-starts-rolling-out-today/">just arrived</a>).<div class=clear></div> <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/11/01/google-releases-octobers-android-platform-distribution-numbersjelly-bean-at-2-7-gingerbread-still-hanging-on-at-54/" class="read_more"><div class=excerpt-end><img src=http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/themes/ap1/images/read_on.png /></div></a></p><div style='clear: both'><b>Done With This Post? <p>Google has once again updated the Android platform distribution numbers. The numbers, released right on schedule today, show Gingerbread still leading the pack at 56% of devices (down from 57.5% last month), with Jelly Bean crawling up the ladder to 1.8%, up from 1.2% last time.</p>

<p>The two most important stat changes from last month, Gingerbread and Jelly Bean, are somewhat disappointing – both shifting at a lower rate than <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/09/05/latest-android-distribution-stats-now-available-jelly-bean-making-gains-gingerbread-still-dominates/">last cycle</a>, but <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/09/24/samsung-announces-that-jelly-bean-is-coming-to-15-more-devices-soon-including-the-galaxy-music/">promised updates</a> and <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/08/31/images-of-an-unnamed-htc-device-surface-could-be-the-rumored-5-mega-smartphone-headed-to-verizon/">leaked devices</a> we may or may not see in the near future will likely help those numbers along.</p>
<p>Other versions, meanwhile, are moving as expected.<div class=clear></div> <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/10/01/google-updates-android-platform-distribution-numbers-jelly-bean-crawls-to-1-8-gingerbread-at-56/" class="read_more"><div class=excerpt-end><img src=http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/themes/ap1/images/read_on.png /></div></a></p><div style='clear: both'><b>Done With This Post? <p>Owners of T-Mobile's Huawei-made myTouch can begin anxiously tapping "software update" now – the carrier is rolling out a minor update to software build C85B839SP03. Among other things, this update fixes the myTouch device's "<a href="http://www.tmonews.com/2012/08/new-mytouch-mytouch-q-smartphones-missing-a-megapixel/">missing megapixel</a>" problem, allowing the camera to "realize [its] full 5.0 Mega Pixel resolution." </p>
<p>The update also allows users to opt out of Carrier IQ, and brings a "compose" button to the Email app, and adds call-related bug fixes. Here's the full change log from T-Mo's website:</p>
<p align="center"><a href="http://cdn.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/nexusae0_image47.png"><img style="display: inline" title="image" alt="image" src="http://cdn.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/nexusae0_image_thumb48.png" width="638" height="403"/></a></p>

<p>With the end of another month, we now have another set of Android platform distribution numbers to look at. Updated today, the stats reveal that Gingerbread is <em>still</em> dominating by quite a large margin, with Ice Cream Sandwich climbing and Jelly Bean making its own gains. Take a look for yourself:</p>
<p align="center"><a href="http://cdn.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/nexusae0_image10.png"><img style="display: inline" title="image" alt="image" src="http://cdn.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/nexusae0_image_thumb10.png" width="668" height="379"/></a></p>
<p>First up is Gingerbread. While its stranglehold on the distribution chart is still going strong, it has dropped off just a little bit since <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/08/01/android-platform-distribution-updated-ics-up-to-almost-16-jelly-bean-0-8/">the last cycle</a>, sliding from 60.3% of all devices to 57.5% last month. Ice Cream Sandwich, meanwhile, has climbed from 15.8% to nearly 21%, which definitely sounds promising.<div class=clear></div> <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/09/05/latest-android-distribution-stats-now-available-jelly-bean-making-gains-gingerbread-still-dominates/" class="read_more"><div class=excerpt-end><img src=http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/themes/ap1/images/read_on.png /></div></a></p><div style='clear: both'><b>Done With This Post? <p>Nikon is hoping to hear more than crickets when it brings the Coolpix S800c to market in September, with a suggested retail price of $349.95. All joking aside, as a low-end camera it's got some pretty decent specs: 16 megapixels, a 10x optical zoom, a 3.5-inch touch-sensitive OLED display, and 1080p video recording. The hook is WiFi and GPS combined with what equates to a mid-range Android smartphone circa summer 2010: Gingerbread runs on that 3.5-inch screen, with (surprisingly) full access to the Google Play Store.<div class=clear></div> <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/08/21/nikons-coolpix-s800c-runs-on-android-gingerbread-money-and-confusion/" class="read_more"><div class=excerpt-end><img src=http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/themes/ap1/images/read_on.png /></div></a></p><div style='clear: both'><b>Done With This Post? <p>It is once again time to gather round and take a look at the Android platform distribution chart, Google's periodic pie chart which records the distribution of our friend Andy's various versions. </p>
<p>This time around, there isn't a whole lot to be surprised about – Gingerbread (2.3-2.3.7) handily outweighs all other Android versions, snatching up 65% of the overall pie. Froyo (2.2), which deftly dominated the chart <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/07/07/google-updates-android-platform-distribution-chart-again-eclair-on-the-decline-gingerbread-continuing-to-make-headway/">just under a year ago</a>, has shrunk to a comparatively teeny 19.1%.&#160; </p>
<p>Meanwhile, Android's latest (and greatest) iteration – Ice Cream Sandwich – is slowly making progress, having clawed its way up to 7.1% of the chart.<div class=clear></div> <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/06/01/google-updates-android-distribution-chart-gingerbread-dominant-ice-cream-sandwich-still-on-its-way-up/" class="read_more"><div class=excerpt-end><img src=http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/themes/ap1/images/read_on.png /></div></a></p><div style='clear: both'><b>Done With This Post?
