Hulu adds live and on demand access to HBO and Cinemax, just in time for new Game of Thrones

Video streaming app Hulu has recently made great strides in its attempts to catch up with other similar services like Netflix. In the last few months, it's added profiles to support individual watch histories and introduced Google Home integration. It's also got live TV now, and you can read our thoughts about that in our recent review. No streaming service would be complete without quality shows and movies, and with that in mind, Hulu has now added HBO and Cinemax to its burgeoning list of content partners.

[Update: Now public] SHIELD TV update v5.2 adds Plex Live TV, direct NAS write capability, and more

As a companion to Plex's announcement of Live TV for Pass subscribers today, Nvidia is pushing out the 5.2 update to the SHIELD TV. NBC releases its app for Android TV

Last night the US cable network NBC released an app for streaming content to the Android TV platform. It's pretty similar to NBC's other Android app, but, you know, for Android TV. The UI has been reworked to look better on a larger-format display but, presumably, offers all the same content you expect.

[Update: Link to Sony's message] It looks like Sony might be prepping to push Nougat to their Android TVs soon

We got a tip earlier today from a user whose Sony Android TV gave him a message about an upcoming update. The message does not explicitly mention Nougat, but among the features listed are some that are exclusive to Android 7.0. Unfortunately, we don't know exactly when the update will hit, but the included information says that it is scheduled to begin after 05/2017.
