You might not know it if you don't regularly peruse the less-traveled sections of your local electronics store, but Garmin and its competitors have been making impressively sophisticated GPS watches for years. They only escaped the "smartwatch" label because the buzzword hadn't been invented yet. Now Garmin, like Timex, is approaching the smartwatch from the other end, adding more and more features onto a design that's been present for quite a while.
It's been about a year since the original Air Dock wireless car charger smashed its Indiegogo funding goal, and now v2.0 is doing the same. The fixed funding campaign had a goal of $85,000, and it's already over that with a few more weeks to go. You've still got time to secure your Air Dock 2.0, and you should probably consider it—this car dock is one of the coolest, most convenient ways to charge your phone.
If you're one of those users who continually laments the lack of expandable storage options from high-end smartphones or tablets, Seagate would like a word. The well-known hard drive manufacturer is releasing a somewhat unconventional model aimed squarely at mobile devices. The Seagate Wireless (that's the full name of the drive) is a 500GB hard drive with a built-in power supply and a Wi-Fi radio for accessing files on the go.
ZeroLemon loves to strap enormous batteries onto every phone that they can, and since they keep doing it for basically every new Samsung and LG high-end model, someone must be buying them. The latest phone to receive the company's blessings of longevity is the Galaxy Note 4, itself already one of the biggest phones around. A 10,000mAh battery and a replacement rear cover (which is really more like a case) can be yours for $59.99 on Amazon.
Part of me is completely smitten by this infant seat, the other is appalled by how little we seem to hold, care, or connect with our babies. But I guess there are legitimate uses for a seat that replaces human motions, like for parents who suffer from back problems, those who need to get work done around the house with no one else there to help, and those whose babies start crying uncontrollably the moment they are put down.
One of my favorite Bluetooth earphones of all time is Plantronics' Backbeat GO 2. Ever since I got it over a year ago, you'd rarely find me outside of home or work without seeing it around my neck. It accompanies me on my walks, my shopping, and most of my daily activities. It is small and minimalistic, easily fits in my purse, and lightly hangs around my neck when not in use. It's also quite comfortable to wear for 2 or 3 hours continuously, enough to entertain me on all of my outings.
If you snatched up one of the hard-to-find Nexus 9 Magic Covers by getting in a pre-order at Amazon way back in October, check your inbox. At least one Android Police reader reports that his cover has shipped. Given Amazon's extensive and speedy distribution network, it's likely that most of the other pre-orders are shipping as well, though that might depend on which color you chose. And speaking of colors...
If OnePlus is good at anything, it's building hype. We experienced months of that early this year during the lead up to the OnePlus One announcement. The company started playing up a "Go Further" announcement the other day for 12/17. Well, here we are and guess what... it's a battery. An external battery with USB ports and stuff called the OnePlus Power Bank. Oh.
