After reports of skin rashes pushed Fitbit to recall its Force activity tracker at the beginning of this year, the company is now ready to bring the product's replacement to market. It's called the Charge, and it's joined by two other fitness bracelets packing more features and a higher cost.
The Charge comes with largely the same look and capabilities as the Force it replaces, providing the ability to track steps, follow sleep patterns, count floors climbed, see calories burned, and know who's calling. Read More
The Nexus Player's pre-order saga has been an interesting one to say the least. First the device went up for pre-order with its accompanying gamepad, then it was marked as 'out of inventory' because it hadn't passed the FCC certification just yet, and finally it became available for pre-order again a week ago. Its gamepad however, went out of stock about the same time the player's pre-orders were halted, but didn't return with it. Read More
Google has slowly been adding replacement charging docks for the Android Wear devices to the Play Store. That's important in the case of watches like the Gear Live, which uses a special clip to charge the watch. It's less of an issue for the Qi-equipped Moto 360, but the official stand is in stock now anyway.
The listing for the dock appeared recently, but it wasn't available for purchase. That's changed now, and you can order it for $39.99. Read More
Every smartphone out there might not be able to use a microSD card, but it can take advantage of a full-sized flash drive. Hey, hear me out here. I'm well aware that Android phones don't come with big USB ports, but SanDisk has produced a flash drive that your phone or tablet can access wirelessly. While they're not a perfect solution to the problem of limited storage, they're one of the best options out there. Read More
We're no strangers to the Nexus 9's Keyboard Folio accessory. After posting an exclusive look at its technical drawings, then seeing it pass by the NCC, we were treated to a few renders along with the Nexus 9's announcement and then spotted it in the flesh in Vietnam. However, if you went to the Play Store expecting to pre-order an HTC Nexus 9 and its case, you must have been disappointed to find out that the latter is still marked as "coming soon". Read More
When Samsung and LG began selling their Android Wear watches, it seems they made a small oversight: the only way to get the proprietary POGO pin charging docks was to buy the watch. That left customers who had lost or damaged the chargers with no way to get their devices charged again. LG made good on the problem by adding a G Watch Charger to the Play Store back in August, and now Samsung has followed up for the Gear Live as well. Read More
Among the invariably dull and recycled ideas we see on Kickstarter every day, only very few manage to come up with an interesting approach that may make us want to open our wallet and part with our hard-earned cash. AMPY is as close to being this cool and must-have accessory as it gets. It's a kinetic charger for phones and accessories. That's right, clean and renewable energy for your gadgets, and all you have to do is get off the couch and move. Read More
If you've got more than one or two devices sitting around, you may find that you start running short of plugs. You can attach them to a computer, but they won't charge very fast that way. The Photive 5-port desktop charger seems like a good way to fix that, and it's on sale for $12 if you use a coupon code at checkout.
HTC isn't the first company you think of when you think about cameras. But they would very much like to be, and to that end, they've announced the HTC RE. As expected, this is a wireless "sports camera," along the same lines as products from GoPro, Sony, and any number would-be competitors.
The most striking thing about the RE is its design. The small 96.7x26.5mm camera is shaped roughly like a periscope (or an inhaler), allegedly for a better grip. Read More
Charge allthethings! Wouldn't you like that? Well, Samsung has a solution for you in its Multi-Charging Wall Charger. Announced back in August, the tri-split cable and wall charger combo is finally available for sale on Samsung's Online Store. Essentially, this is a cable with a USB port at one end and three MicroUSB ports on the other, allowing you to use one USB output to split the charging power between 3 devices simultaneously.
