SEGA's House Of The Dead Overkill: The Lost Reels Hits The Play Store, Is The Most Fun You Can Have Shooting Undead Strippers

The original House of the Dead (and its sequels) is one of my absolute favorite arcade shooters of all time. And House of the Dead: Overkill brought a whole new experience to the franchise, with more dynamic characters and full-on adult content (we're talkin' drug use, strippers, and more f-bombs than Pulp Fiction can shake a stick at). Needless to say, it's a fantastic rail shooter.

For those who have longed for more HotD action, Sega just pushed Overkill: The Lost Reels to the Play Store. The game – which was promised back at GDC – brings all the original characters to the mix, including foul-mouthed playboy cop Isaac Washington, his unlikely (and reluctant) partner Agent G, fully-armed stripper Varla Guns, and the oft-forgotten busty blonde Candi Stryper.

Zombies, Run! Launches Season 2, Time To Strap On Your Vibrams

Few things motivate me to run more than the threat of disembodied zombies pursuing me through city streets. For a while now, escaping the undead has felt dull and repetitive, as if I'm just going through the same motions over and over again. Fortunately, Six to Start is back with a brand new season of Zombies, Run! Fans of the fitness game have been eagerly awaiting a new chapter almost as fervently as Walking Dead watchers crave their favorite AMC hit.

For owners of the app, this update brings a refreshed look to the UI, revamps the base-building experience, and adds seven new missions to the storyline.

And while I'm still ecstatic that there's such a plethora of variety on the platform, there's definitely a few game elements that are far, far beyond their sell-by date. I'd hate to discourage developers from making games, but consider this: if your mobile game features any of the following bullet points, and (perhaps more importantly) a lack of innovation, you're doing something wrong.

Of all the shows that have ever been on TV in the history of time, I'm not afraid to admit that AMC's The Walking Dead is my absolute favorite. For those who may not be familiar with the show, it's the story of a group of survivors living in a post-apocalyptic zombie-infested world. As you can imagine, life is rough on the group of protagonists, as they have to find food, shelter, and other necessities in order to survive, all while fighting off the undead, which sometimes show up in droves.

[CES 2013] NVIDIA Shows Off Madfinger's Dead Trigger 2 For The Tegra 4, Complete With Godzombie [Update: Release Timeline And More Details]

NVIDIA slipped a surprise into their CES press conference this evening: a short and sweet look at Dead Trigger 2. As the only technical demo for the screaming Tegra 4 platform, it looked mighty impressive - based on the streaming video, the graphics look just a little behind the Xbox 360/Playstation 3 level. The short demo video showed live game video of the player wielding an M4 machine gun to dispatch an enormous building-sized zombie.

Unfortunately, Madfinger wasn't on hand to elaborate, so anything beyond the brief look here is speculation. Based on the success of the original zombie shooter, they'll probably be using the same free-to-play model as before.

We've had our fun with Zombies, Run! before. The fitness program/zombie horde simulator is one of the more innovative ways we've seen to get in shape. However, it's not all casual fun. Sometimes you have to get serious. If you're looking for an app to push you a bit harder, you may want to check out Zombies, Run! 5K Training. Currently on sale for $0.99 in the Play Store (75% off), this one gives you more in-depth structure to get you through a full 5K in 8-weeks.

The app should work much like the regular version, with audio stories to augment your running experience.

Ah, the holidays. Nothing says family togetherness like carols, eggnog, and a horde of ravenous undead monsters trying to gobble your brains like gingerbread. Madfinger's popular zombie shooter Dead Trigger has been updated once again: after the crowd-pleasing Halloween content, they've gone and added Christmas-themed levels. You'd better hope for some ammunition in your stocking.

In addition to a new North Pole Christmas Arena, you'll get to face off against new boss Zanta. (Zombie Santa? Christopher Moore would be proud.) A shiny new grenade launcher should make his torso shake like a bowl full of jelly, and there are new story missions to while away the cold winter nights.

Zombie Driver THD Review: You Got Your Shooter In My Racing Game

A review of Exor Studio's Zombie Driver is somewhat redundant, since it's been available on PCs via Steam for almost three years. But as any dedicated mobile gamer knows, translating a console or PC gaming experience to a handheld is rarely as straightforward as developers or publishers think, and the $7 asking price is a respectable chunk of change, even for a proven game. So, does the NVIDIA-published THD version of Zombie Driver live up to its undead-slaying progenitor?

For the most part, yes. Zombie Driver THD keeps up the fast and surprisingly varied gameplay of the original, making only a few sacrifices to mobile controls (which, thankfully, are entirely optional).

Dead Trigger Updated For Halloween, Brings New Pumpkin-Head Zombies, A 'Haunted Graveyard' Arena, And More

Halloween is the spookiest holiday of the year, so it only makes sense that an undead-infested game like Dead Trigger would want to get in on the action. The newest update to hit the Play Store brings exactly that, with a fun new arena called the Haunted Graveyard, along with a slews of pumpkin-head zombies.

Not only that, but there's also a new way to destroy said zombies: the crossbow. Sweet.

The update also brings bug fixes, a lower price for the Minigun, and more apps in the bank. It's available now in the Store, so go get it and make some pumpkin soup out of zombie skulls.

Gameloft's Zombiewood Lands On The Play Store, Releases Your Inner Steven Spielberg/Bruce Campbell

You're clearly not tired of zombies, are you? How could you be? They're the perfect surrogate for people in violent video games. Without worrying about any of the moral consequences, you can shoot, chainsaw, maim, electrify, incinerate, or nominate them for Oscars! Try doing that with a normal human being! In Zombiewood, the carnage takes place in a Hollywood (get it?) backlot, the one place you've always wanted to let loose and break stuff.

It's a little unclear from the description just what part of this game has any filmmaking aspect, aside from being in a studio. Isn't that really all you need, though?
