In light of the slew of Asus Transformer Prime (the first tablet to pack NVIDIA's quad-core Tegra 3 CPU) reviews and the pending release of said device, we are curious to know: would you still buy a dual-core tablet? Inspired by both the poll on ideal phone screen size and last week's poll on which orientation you use your tablet, I'm curious to see what your ideal tablet screen size is. So far, it seems 10" is the standard for full-fledged tablets, 7" for e-readers and "tablet-lite" devices, and there's a gamut of sizes in between (and below) for all different purposes - but which is right for you? Put quite simply, we want to see many applications (including games) you have installed, other than those that came pre-installed on your device. An easy way to check: open up the Market and go to My Apps - though be sure to subtract any apps that came with your device, and don't forget to check all your accounts if you have more than one.

The first of Amazon's two new Android tablets has officially been revealed (the second one is rumored to be coming out towards the end of the year), and features a 7" 1024x600 display, 1GHz dual-core CPU, 8GB of storage, and a heavily modified Android experience with an emphasis on Amazon's cloud services - all for just $200.
Given that the price of similar (but larger) tablets is still in the $400+ neighborhood (unless you want to compare it to the Nook Color or original Galaxy Tab, though both are substantially less powerful), will the lower cost yet powerful specs be enough to make the Fire the de facto standard in the tablet world?

A very simple question this week, and very similar to last week's. Given the trend of larger and larger phone screens (look no further than the ultra-sexy 5.3" Galaxy Note), we already know what your ideal screen size is. But sometimes other aspects of a device may push you to a higher screen size than your ideal. So what's the maximum screen size you'd accept?

Many a discussion has cropped up between AP writers about screen size. David's ideal screen size is about 3.7" - the same as what's on his Nexus One - although he could comfortably go up to 4". Artem, on the other hand, loves his 4.3" EVO and has no qualms with 4.5" screens. Personally, I'm more with David: the EVO already feels just a tad too big (width and height) in my pocket, and is about the limit of what fits comfortably in my hand.
Many discussions have broken out around the Android Police e-offices about tablets and whether they're productive, valuable products. Some team members are of the opinion that they're really just expensive toys, good as a minor luxury but not really worth the high cost. Others have found that they use their tablet quite a lot and find them worth every penny. As an added bonus, what do you mainly use your tablet for - business or pleasure?
The Amazon Appstore has received very mixed reviews since its launch March 22nd of this year, most recently taking the heat from the Apparatus developer, but one thing is for sure - the free app deals it offers daily have become very popular among the folks here in the U.S. I for one religiously check the Appstore every night, hoping to pick up the next best app. Speaking of which...
The Amazon Appstore has now given out more than 100 free apps - some incredibly useful and some outright awful. I'm curious to see today which app deserves the highest marks in your grade book.
