Galaxy Nexus Pogo Dock Now Available From Samsung (For A Whopping $90)

The Galaxy Nexus launched with rather little accessory support from Samsung. Recently, they (finally) released a GPS mount, and now the pogo desktop dock has hit the store and is available for purchase. What's special about a pogo dock compared to a normal dock? This dock uses pogo pins - which match up to the three metal dots on the side of the GNexus - to charge the phone, rather than a normal charging port.

T-Mobile, Shockingly, Unhappy With Verizon's Spectrum Hoarding, Asks FCC To Block Acquisition Of Cable Companies' Holdings

Remember back in December when Verizon announced its plans to buy a truckload of spectrum licenses from several cable companies? T-Mobile does, and they're not happy about it.  The fourth-largest US carrier told the FCC that the deal would allow Verizon to "accumulate even more spectrum on top of an already dominant position."

Verizon fired back with the time-honored legal defense of "Well, why not? Nobody else is using it!" In a response to the filing, Verizon claimed that the deal would make use of spectrum that is currently going unutilized by the cable companies.

Verizon Announces LTE Expansion In Four Markets, Adds Service In One On February 16th

Verizon's list of LTE upgrades is a short one this month. Big Red is expanding its 4G LTE network in four existing markets, and only adding one new market to the mix this go around:

  • Expansion in Little Rock, AR

  • Expansion in Clarksville, TN
  • Expansion in San Antonio, TX
  • Activating 4G LTE in Cookeville, TN

We normally see between 10 and 20 new markets on Verizon's monthly upgrade schedule, but with most major metropolitan areas already covered in blazing fast LTE, VZW appears to be slowing down before blanketing the rest of the country.

Verizon LTE Xoom Is Getting An Update (HLK75H), But It's Not Ice Cream Sandwich Yet

Yes, we were excited too, but it looks like owners of Verizon's LTE Xoom still have to wait a bit for ICS. The tablet is about to receive a software update (HLK75H) "soon". Verizon's support page doesn't specify when. There's not much to the update, though. Your tablet will now support dual International Mobile Subscriber Identities (IMSI), as well as a bugfix for restoring data connectivity after exiting Airplane Mode.

In other words, this update is for the subset of the already small group of people who own Verizom Xooms that use their tablets for frequent international travel.
