Verizon's Version Of The LG Watch Urbane 2 LTE Edition Is Up For Pre-Order For $500, Ships On April 1st

The LG Watch Urbane 2 was exciting when it was announced, since it was the first Android Wear device capable of working as a stand-alone mobile gadget with a built-in LTE connection. Then it wasn't, because LG delayed the launch after an unspecified (but apparently quite serious) hardware defect. Now the launch is back on: AT&T announced its pre-order plans earlier this week, and now it's Verizon's turn. The carrier is taking pre-orders now, with watches shipping (and presumably ready at retail) on April 1st. No foolin'.

A lot of money, as it turns out. While the AT&T version of the Watch Urbane 2 is $360, or $200 with a two-year contract, the Verizon model is a whopping $499.99 outright.

HTC Says That The One A9 Will Never Come To Verizon After All

HTC announced the One A9 late last year with support for T-Mobile, AT&T, and Sprint out of the box. Verizon support was promised in early 2016. However, it looks like that dream dies today with word that HTC has been unable to get certification for the Verizon network.

[Deal Alert] Buy One Droid Turbo 2 And Get Another Turbo 2 Or Maxx 2 For 50% Off

With Valentine's Day fast approaching, love is in the air. Or is that a mix of rampant consumerism and hormones? Oh well, same thing pretty much. Motorola Says The Moto X Pure Edition Is Now Being Updated To Marshmallow On Verizon, Sprint, And US Cellular

Owners of the Moto X Pure Edition, ostensibly Motorola's flagship US phone at the moment, should be receiving the over-the-air update to Android 6.0 soon. That's according to Motorola employee David Schuster, who has shed light on upcoming updates many times before. He told his Google+ followers earlier today that the Marshmallow upgrade is currently being sent out to those Moto X Pure Edition phones on Verizon, Sprint, and US Cellular. The updates follow shortly after the soak tests from last week.

Recall that the Pure Edition, which is compatible with all five major carriers in the US, is being sold directly from Motorola and isn't being distributed through carriers at all.

Verizon Builds A Working Smartphone In Minecraft That Makes Video Calls And Has A Web Browser

There's no limit to what you can build in Minecraft. From a one-to-one scale model of the Starship Enterprise to a working CPU, the block-based video game has seen practically everything. Fans of the game like to spend time on large-scale constructions, and the engineers at Verizon seem to be some of the biggest fans around. Staying true to what the company is known for, they've taken it upon themselves to extend the network's wireless coverage into the virtual world and build a working smartphone in Minecraft. The result is admittedly very cool.

The phone may not have all the conveniences of a modern smartphone: the roughly 2000-inch display has a screen resolution of about 40 by 30 pixels, which gives it a rather lowish pixel density of around 0.0254 ppi.

Verizon Super-Sizes Its Ellipsis Tablet To 10 Inches, Sells It For $300 Off Contract Or $200 With The Ball And Chain

Around this time last year Verizon released a self-branded tablet called the Ellipsis 8, a larger variation on the original 7-inch Ellipsis. We had some fun speculating on its corporate origins. But thanks to lots of discounts and package deals, there are actually a ton of these things in the hands of consumers, including some of my Verizon-using family members. So here we are again, with another, bigger Verizon whitebox tablet. This time it's a ten-inch slate called the (wait for it) Ellipsis 10.

Verizon DROID Turbo 2 And DROID Maxx 2 Promotional Pamphlet Leak Confirms Rumored Details

Verizon's yearly refresh of its exclusive DROID line is fast approaching. The company will announce its new Motorola-produced phones on October 27th (a week from Tuesday), but thanks to a series of leaks, there won't be a lot of surprises on stage. The latest one is a pamphlet for the DROID Turbo 2, a high-end sequel to last year's flagship, and the DROID Maxx 2, a mid-range option that focuses on battery life. The leak comes from Droid Life, and it confirms several details that were leaked and/or rumored previously.
