Verizon Backpedals On $2 Fee For Single Payments, Bows At The Mercy Of Its Customers

Earlier this week, Verizon announced that it would start charging customers a $2 fee for paying their bill with a debit card either online or over the phone. Naturally, this caused a huge uproar among customers -- sure, it's only a couple bucks, but it's the principal of the thing. Charging customer to pay their bill?  The very idea doesn't make sense. It's just whack.

[Updated x4: More Info] Verizon's 4G LTE Network Is Down, Devices Left Without Data Connectivity Across The Nation... Again

It seems like this is becoming a weekly habit, doesn't it? Big Red 4G LTE devices across the nation are once again without data services (mine included).

It appears that this just happened, so there's no word from VZW as to when we can expect data services to be restored. We'll keep you posted on any new information as it comes along; until then, I hope you're around a Wi-Fi network.

[Update: Rolling Out Now] Verizon Support Docs Updated, Droid RAZR Build 6.11.747 Should Be Rolling Out Soon With Bug Fixes A-Plenty

Update: According to Motorola, this update should be rolling out now. Let us know when it hits your device!

Looks like Big Red is preparing to push the first update out to the Droid RAZR that fixes a few bugs, improves data connectivity, and improves readability in the lapdock interface. Here is the full list of fixes:

[Updated: 'Returning To Normal'] Verizon Suffering Another Outage, Many 3G And 4G Customers Left Without Data Services

Update: Looks like things are getting stitched up on VZW's end, as a spokesperson told Android Central that "4G LTE service is returning to normal." Here's the full quote:

Verizon Wireless 4G LTE service is returning to normal this morning after company engineers worked to resolve an issue with the 4G network during the early morning hours today.   Throughout this time, 4G LTE customers were able to make voice calls and send and receive text messages.

This Is Why Your Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Or Other 4G LTE VZW Phone) Is Losing Its Data Connection

After months of wondering and looking around for answers, we think we've finally found out why all of Verizon's 4G LTE phones (and modems / USB dongles) are having data connectivity issues, and it's a wee-bit technical even for us, but we'll do our best. This information has been gathered from various comments and forums across the net, so, take us at our word here.

When Verizon launched its LTE network in November of 2010, it was the first time the carrier had utilized a GSM-based (WCDMA, as opposed to CDMA2000) network in the United States.
