Google's had fun creating new Auto-Awesome animations that match the theme of every holiday season these days, but this latest one is rather amusing. For Valentines Day, Google has rolled out animated hearts that will automatically appear on any photos of people kissing. This can add a little extra spark to that loving picture of you and that special someone. As usual, the animation may not appear immediately, but Google+ will shoot you a notification when it's ready.
"Hi, honey. Sorry I'm late I-...Yes, I know I didn't call. I-...Well, my battery died. Nothing I can do about that, bab-...*sigh* Yes, you're right. I should've listened to you when you told me to get the RAZR MAXX HD. As usual, you were right and I was wrong and next time I'll be sure to do exactly as you say without-... I am not taking a tone with you! ...Well, what do you want me to say?
Love is fun everywhere. This is the audacious claim that Bandai is peddling with its new app "Tamagotchi L.i.f.e." And yes, that is what the acronym actually stands for. If you're of the opinion that love might only be fun in certain places, then I challenge you to download this virtual pet to your phone. This thorough recreation of the pocketable pals of the late 90s will teach you how to love again as you lovingly scoop its loving poop and let it win games, lest it gets lovingly mad at you.
Around the offices of Android Police, we go through a lot of apps. We're talking hundreds or even thousands every week, to bring you the best in our app and game roundups or (if they're good enough) individual posts. Before every major holiday, we are inundated with more themed applications than we know what to do with. And to be honest, most of them are terrible. But we've found four Valentine's apps that are bearable, even interesting.
It's time to call up the DROID RAZR M family and congratulate it on a new,
slightly much girlier addition. Minutes ago, Verizon Wireless put up the bright pink Valentine's Day-themed variant of the 4.3" Jelly Bean-sporting device for sale on its website.
Update: Verizon has now updated the page and included a $50-off discount, dropping the price down to $49.99.
Unsurprisingly, the subsidized 2-year contract price remains unchanged from the black and white versions at $99.99, while the month-to-month off-contract option will make your wallet lighter by $549.99.
T-Mobile is evidently planning a huge sale in celebration of Valentine's day, offering all phones (plus the Springboard tablet and G-Slate) free for one day only this Saturday, February 11th. The deal will apply to current and new customers with Value or Classic Plans. Customers looking to take advantage of the sale will need to pay the 2-year subsidy, and will receive a full reimbursement via mail-in rebate card.
Update: The sale was apparently extended by an extra day through end of Sunday due to downed systems and busy stores that couldn't handle demand.
Everyone loves free stuff. Hopefully, everyone loves (at at least somewhat likes) their valentine. Ergo, everyone loves to get free stuff for their valentine - especially if it's super-sick Android gear, right? If you answered yes to those questions, this giveaway is for you.
This one is going to work a little bit differently than previous giveaways. In fact, you won't be winning anything at all, per se. In honor of Valentine's day, love, and Cupid himself, this one is for your significant other/mate/lover/whatever you want to call them.
If you're a fan of live wallpapers and holidays, then you probably love holiday-themed live wallpapers, no? That also probably means you're still rocking DualBoot Games' Christmas LWP while waiting for a new holiday to coat your homescreens in. Good news! Valentine's Day is right around the corner and DualBoot Games has once again delivered the LWP goods that you so desperately crave.
Like DB's previous wallpapers, V-Day HD is filled with customization options, including the ability to add pictures of your love into a frame atop the wine-filled table, crack the bubbly in a romantic location such as Paris, place a gift with a personalized message on the table, and so much more.
One of the most popular Android games, Angry Birds Seasons, by everyone's favorite developer Rovio Mobile went on a 1-day sale today as the free premium app of the day over at the Amazon Appstore. The only difference between the already-free version of the same name and this one is the absence of those annoying ads that pop up in the most ridiculous locations at the most inopportune times.
To grab Angry Birds Seasons that currently consists of 4 editions (St Patrick's Day, Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine's Day), proceed to the Angry Birds Season Appstore page.
As promised, Rovio Mobile rolled out an update to the Angry Birds Seasons branch of its extremely popular game, this time with lots of pink, hearts, and love all around. The Valentine's Day edition features 18 new levels as well as some new carefully hidden golden eggs, and will surely knock down today's productivity levels with ripples felt all over the world.
This is getting a little too pink for my liking...
