Hulu is a popular streaming service that offers a range of on-demand content. It provides current-season TV episodes shortly after they air, making it a preferred choice for viewers who want up-to-date content. But how do you share one account with multiple household members? Profiles offer a convenient way to personalize the streaming experience for each person in your home.

Over the past decade, smartphones have gone from being a nice-to-have luxury item to an essential part of everyday life. We use our phones for work, play, family, and everything in between, so you may have emails, passwords, or photos on your phone that you don't want someone to stumble upon. At the same time, you may want to lend your awesome new phone when a friend, coworker, or partner is in need. Android has a built-in solution: Guest Profiles.

As we wait for an Android 13 preview, details for the upcoming release trickle in. On top of recently spotted features like the tap-to-transfer media playback, some UI tweaks for the output picker, QR code scanning tweaks, and a “Panlingual” feature for per-app language settings, we have a few lingering tidbits for you. Not everyone who lives together has the same taste in entertainment, which is why apps like Netflix and HBO Max offer individual user profiles for each account. Google TV was set to add profiles in November, but if you're rocking a Chromecast, you've probably noticed they aren't live just yet. Unfortunately, if you've been expecting to take advantage of separate accounts ahead of the holiday season, you shouldn't expect them any time soon.

User profiles are extremely handy for online streaming services, if only so I can stop seeing random episodes of The Big Bang Theory show up in my HBO Max feed (which should be nothing but 90s WB superhero cartoons). Google apparently thinks that kind of separation will be useful for its revamped Android TV interface, because said profiles are on their way.

There are a lot of streaming services out there these days. Each of them have different pros and cons, but one of the most universal features is being able to create multiple user profiles for different individuals. Now it looks like CBS has finally added this seemingly basic ability for All Access members using its mobile apps.

Amazon Prime Video profiles rolling out to more markets, including the US

It's a gradual rollout, so you gotta wait a bit

Amazon’s streaming service tied to the retailer’s Prime subscription tries to do a lot with its “Included with Prime” shows, separate paid channels, and rentals — all under one app. Despite all those options and standout features like X-Ray, Prime Video has always felt lacking without support for user profiles, something its rivals have supported for a long time. Amazon is changing that now as it rolls out the option to add more profiles, but only in certain markets.

Apple Music had a lot of promise when it launched, but the app didn't stick well with the times, especially on Android. It seemed as if the developers behind it just didn't want to bother with anything specific to the Android platform, preferring to stick with the basic features and not making use of all the APIs that were available to them. But with the last release of v2.2, it looks like Apple Music is finally realizing some of its potential on our beloved platform.
