Following last month's Transformer Pad 300 (TF300) OTA update to v126.96.36.199, ASUS is pushing out a new bug fixer v188.8.131.52 with a host of improvements, the most notable one of which is the upgraded camera firmware. I just completed the process on my tablet, and it only took a few minutes.
So what's new in .30? This question is answered by none other than... ASUS Finland, of course, which provided the upcoming changelog almost a week ago on the Facebook page in all its Engrish glory:
TF300T ICS v184.108.40.206
- SYSTEM – improve stability of Chrome browser
- SYSTEM – improve camera performance
- Pictures more colorful
- better audio- white balance(AWB) and auto-focus(AE)
- better continues-auto-focus (CAF)
- SYSTEM – fix the bug “wifi occasionally fail to connect after resume from suspend status”
- Appbackup – fix the bug “have to key-in password again after change screen orientation”

Who doesn't love a good deal? Today, Amazon and Wirefly are offering another one today to potential or current Verizon customers: a $40 off your bill if you buy or upgrade to a Verizon 4G phone this week. New customers as well as old will get the $40 credit on their next bill, which is a pretty significant chunk of your bill.
The deal will be going on from now until midnight on Thursday, June 14th, so if you were planning on upgrading, now would be a good time to do it. Read More
It's never a bad day for a deal. Unless you're already on Verizon, I suppose. If you're not already part of Big Red's teeming masses, you can hop aboard the nation's largest carrier and grab a snazzy new Galaxy Nexus for your trouble from Amazon Wireless for just a penny. If you're already on Verizon and you're just looking to upgrade, the latest pure Google is available to you for $149. Read More
Update: In response to the rather vocal outcries of many of its subscribers on the web, Verizon has clarified what will happen to 3G/4G data plans explicitly. The takeaway is this: anyone purchasing a smartphone from this summer forward on subsidy pricing will be pushed into tiered/shared data. If you choose not to buy a smartphone on subsidy, you can keep your unlimited plan if you choose to.
This means if you renew your 2-year agreement, from this summer forward, on any line by buying a "discounted" phone, you lose unlimited. Read More
When David took a look at AT&T's variant of the One X, he loved it. More than Ron cared for Sprint's version, anyway. If you're looking to get in on HTC's latest, Amazon is offering the gray version of the One X for $129.99 to both new and upgrading customers. Sure, you won't get the pretty white casing, but with the exception of the color on the outside, everything on the inside is the same. Read More
MEIZU may have gotten its start as a maker of crappy knock-off electronics, but lately, the company has been making an impressive push into the mainstream. Take a look at the specs of the flagship MEIZU MX and you can see what I mean: 4" qHD screen, 8MP rear shooter, 1.4GHz dual-core CPU, and all the other usual goodies. The smaller (and 15 month old) M9 packs a punch too, with a 3.5" qHD screen, and 1GHZ CPU - also damn respectable for its time. Read More
Verizon customers will want to keep an eye on their inboxes today, as big red has begun sending emails to select customers offering a free upgrade to Samsung's Galaxy Nexus, Stratosphere, or Motorola's Droid RAZR with a new 2-year agreement.
The email is presumably being sent out to those customers who have a 3G-only plan, or who haven't made the jump to a smartphone yet, judging by the following snippet of text, though it's hard to be certain exactly who qualifies for the deal. Read More
