US Cellular Rolling Out Galaxy S III Update R530UVXAMD4, Brings Multi-Window, Smart Switch, And More

A nice treat for Galaxy S III owners on US Cellular is dropping today. An update to version R530UVXAMD4 is going out via OTA soon, but you don't have to wait. US Cellular says you can pull the update manually from the Software Update menu. The full update can also (at some point) be downloaded from Samsung and flashed to the device over USB. US Cellular's link currently points toward to the last update.

Asus PadFone2 Updated To V10.4.16.8 With A Few Important Tweaks, Full ROM Downloads Available

The PadFone2 is a bizarre device, but at least t's getting some update attention from Asus. Firmware update V10.4.16.8 is in the wild, and you can download the full 700-800MB package on the Asus site. The device stays on Android 4.1, but there are a host of improvements and bug fixes.

T-Mobile Sending Out Minor Updates To HTC One And Galaxy Note II

Don't get too excited if you see an update notification on your T-Mobile HTC One or Galaxy Note II today – they're both getting minor updates. Both devices stay on Android 4.1.2, but cheer up. There are phones that don't get any update love.

The HTC One update has version number 1.27.531.8, and is coming via OTA. You may notice this isn't even the 1.29 HTC software revision containing fixes for the camera and sluggish buttons.

New Features In Android 4.2.2 For HTC One Previewed – Battery Percent In Status Bar, Quick Settings, And More

One of the very few issues with the HTC One is that it still runs Android 4.1, whereas the Galaxy S4 started out on 4.2. A new report on what's to come with HTC's OS update includes some apparent screenshots of Sense 5 on 4.2.2, and there is some good stuff on the way.

AT&T HTC One X+ Updated To v1.19.502.1 With Bug Fixes Galore, Full ROM Download Available

Even though HTC is now focusing on its new baby (and possible savior) the HTC One, that doesn't mean the company has completely forgotten about the last generation. AT&T's HTC One X+ has just gotten an update to v1.19.502.1. Sadly, this is still Android 4.1.1, but it does fix a few nagging issues.

The full change log is straight to the point. HTC is fixing bugs, and not much else:

  • AT&T Address Book Fixes
  • Bluetooth fixes
  • Wi-Fi fixes
  • Other minor bug fixes

One X+ owners can pull the update down manually, or wait for the OTA to show up on its own.

Google Pushes Small Updates To PrimeTime For Google TV, Offers, And Sound Search

We've already seen two pretty major updates to Google apps today, with Translate's offline language packs and Movies getting info cards. Some smaller updates were also pushed out to a few other apps as well – namely Sound Search, Offers, and PrimeTime for Google TV. Since the latter's the most notable (in terms of what's in the update, that is), let's start there.

The PrimeTime app for Google TV brings a few new things by adding support for Amazon Prime content, as well as a subscription selector for Netflix, HBOGO, and Prime.

Some Sony Xperia Z Handsets Dying Randomly, Sony Says Fix Is Incoming

There isn't a phone on the planet that doesn't have at least a few bugs upon its release, but one such bug being reported by some Xperia Z owners is a doozie. The story goes that users are happily using their shiny new phone when it dies and refuses to wake up. Sony has finally chimed in online, saying the issue has been identified and a bug fix will roll out as part of the next software update.

Falcon Pro Updated To Version 1.7 With Customizable Widgets And Tweet Translation

Yes, Falcon Pro is still kicking after temporarily running out of Twitter auth tokens last month. The developer has just updated the app with a feature he promised in the wake of tokengate: widgets. There are a few other changes, but man.. look at how widget-y those widgets are!

Falcon Pro was previously dependent on the Falcon widget for home screen interaction. That setup gets the job done, but requires two process to be running and updating the feed simultaneously.

Android 4.2.2 (Build JDQ39) For Verizon Galaxy Nexus Rolling Out To Testers, OTA Imminent?

In the pantheon of devices bearing the name Nexus, there is one obvious black sheep. The Verizon Galaxy Nexus never really got the update love that GSM Nexus devices have, and there was that whole Google Wallet debacle. While the updates haven't been flowing quite like owners had hoped, a version of Android 4.2.2 is now rolling out to Verizon testers. It may only be a matter of time before the update is official.
