Just because you use Facebook, that doesn't mean you have a Facebook page. We all have profiles, but pages are typically reserved for organizations, artists, or products. That said, anyone can create a Facebook page. Yes, anyone They're practically giving them away. And while you're creating a page of your own, check out the Facebook Pages Manager app, which was updated recently with a number of nice features that make managing that new page a bit easier. Update: Multiple confirmations now that this update is indeed happening. Commenters and some well-known XDA users are getting JWR66Y. It's still looking like a minor security update and nothing more.
Update 2: The 3G Nexus 7 (2012) is getting the update as well. Not only that, the OTA update link has been spotted. This is the Nakasig version, remember. The WiFi variant is Nakasi, and no news on that yet. Read More
While we haven't heard a peep about the Android 4.2 update rolling out to the HTC One in the US, it's old news in Europe. In fact, HTC is already rolling out the 4.2 update to last year's flagship, the HTC One X, on that side of the pond. European owners of the Tegra 3-powered handset will now get to taste Sense 5, including BlinkFeed, but they have the option to disable the latter if they're not interested. Read More
Google Glass Explorers are in for a treat today as the monthly update to Google's wearable computer is starting to rollout right now. This update continues the trend of incremental improvements to the device, but Google is at least responding to some user requests with XE8.
HTC hasn't completely forgotten its older devices as it continues talking up the HTC One. The One X+ is finally getting an update to Android 4.2.2, which is actually newer software than the current generation One in the US runs... but that's beside the point. The OTA is hitting Taiwan first, but we've already got a full system dump and a ROM based on it.

Chromecast is one of the slicker devices to come out of Google HQ in a while. After you're all set up, just tap a button on YouTube or Netflix, and BAM, whatever you were watching is now on your television. It's really awesome.
For the researchy-types like me, the Chromecast comes with two piece of software to dig through. The first is the physical device software, which, while it is sort-of Android based, it's only Android-based at the low level. Read More
When I checked out the WiFi-only version of the Xperia Tablet Z I was surprised by how solid it was. One of my main gripes was the old software and the UI that came with it. Well, the first variant of the Tablet Z is now getting an update to Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2, and it changes the interface to a hybrid of the old UI and new UI used on the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10. Samsung seems to be on a bit of an update spree lately, trying to get its devices up to speed on Android 4.2. This time it's the LTE Galaxy Note 8.0 and the somewhat older Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 with 3G. Attacking the system update button like an enraged jungle cat won't do any good, folks. These updates are rolling out in stages.
The Note 8.0 update is starting in the UK, with expansions to more countries soon. Read More
We knew it wouldn't be long, and sure enough, the Android 4.3 update has started hitting Google Play Edition devices. Both the HTC One and the Samsung Galaxy S4 from Google Play are currently receiving update notifications. If you're lucky enough to have one of these devices, commence mashing the update button at your leisure.
The updates for both devices are developed by the OEMs, but there are no modifications to the UI and no carrier testing to get in the way. Read More
