Quickoffice Updated To Version 6.1.181 With Better Google Document Handling, Performance Improvements, And Bug Fixes

Google left many of us scratching our heads when they relaunched Quickoffice last month as a free app, one that probably should have shipped as a Google Drive update instead. Nonetheless, a new version has rolled out that nudges things in the right direction. Now opening a Google document inside Quickoffice will launch the file using the Google Drive app. Previously the document was merely displayed as a PDF instead.

By now we all know that HTC promised to have Android 4.3 ready for American HTC Ones by the end of September and have gotten over the disappointment in whatever way works for each of us. Sprint customers have fared the best so far, as their update started rolling out only a few days after the missed deadline. Now AT&T customers are having their day in the sun. HTC Americas president Jason Mackenzie has sent out a tweet announcing that the update has already started shipping out to users.

Stitcher Updated To Version 3.1, Gets New Offline Listening Mode, Hamburger Navigation Menu, And Usability Improvements

Popular radio and podcast streaming app Stitcher has made the leap to version 3.1 today, and while it hasn't picked up many new features along the way, the few it has are doozies: a new navigation menu makes it easier to get around the app, and you can now designate entire playlists for offline listening. This means you can start streaming at the comfort of your office desk and walk out for lunch without your listening session coming to an abrupt and jarring end.

Yahoo Mail Turns Sixteen, Gets New 'Conversations' View, Syncs Themes, And Gives Free Users Features Previously Exclusive To Mail Plus

Yahoo Mail is turning sixteen (the service, not the company that runs it), and as we would tell any reckless teenager eager to get their hands on the wheel, it might want to slow down a bit. You see, the company has rolled out a slew of new features for the service that, on the whole, are positive, but the provided press photos makes me wonder if they expect anyone older than sixteen to use them.

Suddenly, A Wild Android 4.3.1 Appears - LTE Nexus 7 Receiving Android 4.3.1 OTA (JLS36I)

Without any warning, Google started rolling out Android 4.3.1 (JLS36I) late Thursday night. The first device to receive it is the 2013 LTE Nexus 7 (also known as deb and razorg).

At the moment, it's unclear what exactly the new features and bug fixes in this update could be, but it's worth noting that while Google has patched 4.3 in the past several times, this is the first 4.3 release to increment the version number.

Snapchat Introduces 'Stories,' A Personal Stream Of Photos And Videos That Friends Can View For Up To 24 Hours

Snapchat allows users to send and receive media that disappears after a recipient has opened it, laughed, and - if it's really good - taken a screenshot. It's a nice way to communicate and share content without having to deal with storing and organizing everything that you upload, but sometimes you may want to share a photo with all of your friends at once. Snapchat is rolling out a new feature that lets you share such content for up to 24 hours in a timeline that everyone can see.

Fuhu's Nabi 2 And XD Receiving Big OTA Updates - New Features For Both Devices

If you picked up Fuhu's nabi XD tablet for tweens, then it's time to grab it and hit the update button. An OTA recently began rolling out that brings some intriguing new features to the device, including an all-new launcher.

The XD Launcher isn't a typical launcher, however – it's more of a complete overhaul to the way the XD works and feels. It actually slightly reminds me of Chameleon Launcher, as it has time- and location-aware options that will display certain homescreens based on specific attributes.

HTC EVO 4G LTE Gets OTA Update To Software Version 3.17.651.4, Receives Sense Stability Improvements, Little Else

Sprint just surprised everyone by being the first US carrier to roll out the Android 4.3 update to the HTC One, just missing the September deadline by a hair. But not everyone owns HTC's latest flagship, so it's nice to see that the One isn't the only device having all the fun (granted, it's having most of it). The HTC Evo 4G LTE is also getting an update today, and while it may not be anything nearly as exciting as the jump to Android 4.3, it's better than nothing.
