[Not Allo] Yahoo Messenger can now send video, if you happen to use it

Until today, I had no idea Yahoo Messenger even existed. But it most certainly exists, and if you happen to use it, you might be excited to learn you can now send video. The iOS and Android apps now support sending video, up to one minute long, in both one-on-one and group conversations.

Yahoo Messenger is pretty much your average messaging client, but there are some neat features. You can "unsend" messages and media in a conversation, it supports Google TalkBack, and there's even a native client for Windows and Mac. Which Hangouts still doesn't have, after all these years.

Axon 7 gets updated with improved signal strength, September security patch, and more

ZTE's Axon 7 has some of the best hardware I've ever seen, but its software is a major letdown. Ryan's review and many more indicate that I'm not alone in thinking this. With this latest update for the Axon 7, ZTE doesn't change much visually, but there are quite a few upgrades under the hood.

Google Photos rolling out faster photo sharing and 'Movie Concepts' [APK Download]

Google Photos remains one of my favorite Google products. Unlimited free photo uploads (at a capped resolution), easy organization, automatic tagging, the list of features goes on and on. Google Photos is rolling out two new features today that improve sharing and automatic video creation.

Google Slides now supports using Android Wear to control presentations [APK Download]

It's a bit difficult to get excited over updates to presentation software. But the latest Google Slides update brings a new feature that should have been implemented ages ago - remote control with Android Wear devices. Google Slides has supported streaming presentations to Chromecasts for a while now, but you have always had to control the show from your phone (or your laptop, if using the web version).

The latest Google Slides update installs a companion app on your Android Wear device. When you start casting a presentation, a notification appears on your watch that opens the Wear app. The top of the UI shows the time you have spent on the current slide, the orange bar indicates how far along you are in the presentation, and the bottom shows a preview of the next slide.

Samsung confirms that revised Galaxy Note7s will feature green battery icons in multiple places after software update

To differentiate potentially dangerous Galaxy Note7s from the safe, revised models, Samsung was reported as changing the battery indicator in the status bar from white to green on new models. However, that's not the only change the Korean company is making; Samsung Newsroom is now saying that the new indicator will also appear in other areas of the OS as well. Verizon's software update page for the Note7 confirms this.

The Xperia C5 Ultra launched last year with Android Lollipop, as in 5.0. An over-the-air update to Android 5.1 arrived this past January. Eight months later, Sony is pushing the device up to Marshmallow.

Solid Explorer 2.2 is now available with encryption, multi-window support, and more

There is no shortage of file managers on the Play Store. But Solid Explorer remains my favorite, simply because of its Material design and ease of use. For you power users out there, it also boasts drag and drop, FTP/WebDAV/SMB client support, batch file management, and much more. Solid Explorer has just been bumped to version 2.2, and there's a lot to get excited about.

Sony's selfie-centric Xperia C4 and C4 Dual smartphones receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow

Sony isn't known for getting Android updates out especially quickly, and the fact that Android 6.0 Marshmallow is only arriving now (a month after Nougat's official release) for the Xperia C4 and Xperia C4 Dual is proof of that. Then again, this is a last-generation, mid-range phone with an unconventional MediaTek chipset, so we'll cut Sony some slack for this one.

Chrome 54 Beta is now available on the Google Play Store, for you adventurous beta testers out there. This beta brings some very useful new features to Chrome, so let's dive right in!

New Tab page

Chrome 54 brings a redesigned New Tab page, and honestly, I'm not sure I'm a fan. The changed New Tab page still maintains the Google logo and the search bar, but does away with the Bookmarks or Recent Tabs buttons.
