Latest HTC Sense TV App Update Scores A Number Of Sports-Related Enhancements

HTC has updated its Sense TV app more than a few times since dropping the app into the Play Store, really highlighting the benefits of separating app updates from new firmware releases. On the other side of the coin, the changes in each of these updates aren't particularly drastic. They're not going to win you over if you're not a regular Sense TV user, but they're nice to see if you are.

TiVo App Can Now Stream Shows On Android Phones And Tablets Following Latest Update

TiVo customers are accustomed to convenience. That's the fundamental premise behind recording TV shows for later, after all. Sure, it sucks to miss a show because it came on during a time when you were busy, but that's more of an annoyance than a problem. The latest version of the Android app addresses a similar annoyance--being restricted to whichever room the big screen is in. After quite a wait, customers are now free to stream TiVo content and live TV directly to their mobile devices.

Vine Version 2.5 Introduces A Number Of New Camera Tools And Video Editing Options

Vine, the video equivalent of Twitter, has received an app update that brings in a number of tools that should make getting content onto the site a better experience. The update drops a new icon at the bottom left that lets users pull up videos from their gallery (referred to annoyingly in the app as a camera roll), preview videos of any length, and trim footage down into a 6-second version that probably doesn't do the original any justice (ahem, I mean, make them Vine-ready).

Verizon Announces DROID DNA Software Update That 'Resolves' Device Root Vulnerability And Does Some Other Stuff

Verizon has announced an over-the-air software update for the DROID DNA that's going to make a few users upset. There's no reason to wonder if this latest firmware version will make it more difficult to achieve root access, for the carrier has put this little tidbit of information towards the top of the change log. The second, and perhaps most interesting, item on the list reads: Device root vulnerability issue has been resolved. That's pretty much all rooted users of the DROID DNA need to know about the 4.09.605.5 update.

Since then, developer Jack Underwood and Android Police's own Liam Spradlin have brought in a sweeping set of UI changes inspired by Google's new design guidelines. This isn't exactly what Android L apps will look like, but it's a good taste until they actually arrive.

The Pebble team is continuing to pump life into their monochromatic smartwatch, and it's now rolling out an update that toggles on a few new features. Version 2.5 of the Pebble firmware brings support for emoji, enables compass functionality, and introduces iOS 8 compatibility (one of the items on this change log impacts us less than the others). Just like the previous updates, you get the goods by firing up the Android app and making sure it's paired with your watch.
