Assassin's Creed Pirates Goes Freemium, Gets Updated With New 'Cold Blood' Content

After toying around with Assassin's Creed Pirates' price tag over the past few months, Ubisoft has decided to drop it entirely. The game contains in-app purchases that raise revenue through other means, but now players are empowered to hop in and start sailing without having to pay a cent.

Ubisoft has also updated the app with a "Cold Blood" chapter that leaves behind the warm Caribbean for the frigid Arctic Seas.

Nest Android App Updated To Version 2 With 10-Day History, Steam Check, Additional Safety Tips, And More

As you already know, Nest's alarms are smarter than regular alarms. They pair with an Android app and can provide more specific feedback than BEEP BEEP BEEP. One of their other perks is that, like many gadgets these days, they get better with time. The company is now rolling out version 2 of its mobile apps. The update is available right away, so here's what to expect once it's done installing.

Evernote Version 6 Gets All Dolled Up With UI Enhancements And Plenty Of Floating Buttons

Version 6 of the ever-popular note-taking app Evernote (see what I did there?) has started rolling out to Android devices, and it brings in numerous changes to the way people go about jotting things down. These tweaks have been around a long time for Evernote beta users, but now they're going stable. Chase Mobile Updated With Complete Visual Overhaul As Promised

If you're a customer of Chase Bank, you probably know the pain of opening the bank's crusty old app and dealing with legacy menus and other interface nonsense. But you probably also got an email in late August letting you know that the app would be completely redesigned, and that Chase planned to launch the redesign in September. Well, that redesign is finally a reality, and available in the Play Store right now.

Yahoo Mail For Android Beats Gmail To The Punch With New Ability To Create, Edit, And Delete Filters

Let's think about filters for a moment. They are immensely useful, allowing users to direct (junk) mail from particular senders to the appropriate location (the trash) or apply the correct label (stuff to ignore). Gmail has had the ability to create and manage filters for years, but its app hasn't. In fact, it still lacks this functionality. Yahoo, on the other hand, has rolled the feature into the latest release of its Android app, version 2.6.

Microsoft Updates OneDrive With Ability To Toggle Between Personal And Work Accounts, Lock App Using A PIN, And More

Today Microsoft is rolling out updates to its OneDrive app across all three of the big mobile platforms: Android, iOS, and Windows Phone. The full list of changes are detailed in the company's blog post, but ironically, Android tops the page with the most new features while Microsoft's own OS is situated at the bottom, not yet equipped with the features that I am about to share.

The Android version of OneDrive is the first to let people import both a personal and work account.

AT&T HTC One M8 Android 4.4.3 OTA Software Update Now Hitting Devices

A number of HTC One M8 owners running on AT&T's network have started to receive an over-the-air software update delivering Android 4.4.3 to their devices. It doesn't bring about a big visual change for a flagship phone that already launched with KitKat, but the number of optimizations and security fixes contained within this release make it something worth downloading. Well, there's that, and there's the warm fuzzy feeling that comes from running a newer version of Android.

OnePlus One XNPH33R OTA Is Out With Badly Needed Fixes - Here Is The Zip For Manual Flashing

The OnePlus One is receiving another OTA today - one I'm probably more excited about than any other OTA the company has released so far. Mostly because unlocking the phone and using apps has deteriorated into a constant battle with an unresponsive and very moody touchscreen. Supposedly, this update should resolve this pretty major flaw, along with a few other things which I've detailed below, including the poor battery life we covered recently.
