Drift Mania Championship 2 Hits The Play Store, Makes Your Fast And Furious Dreams A Reality

I'm not really a big car enthusiast, but there's just something that everyone can appreciate about drifting. Even in games, hitting the curve and sliding it through is a killer feeling, but it's one that even the best of racing games don't put a lot of focus on. That's where Drift Mania Championship 2 changes things - it's all about the drift, baby.

As you can see, not only does this game put you behind the wheel and let you slide all over the place, but it looks fantastic doing so.

Major Update Rolled Out To NFL '12, Except You Probably Can't Use It

I just want to put this on the table: I don't like football. It's not that I don't understand it - I just find it boring. And silly. I tried to get into it once, and that just wasn't happening. But, I also realize that many of you lovely folks do like football. So this is for you. Well, kind of.

The NFL pushed a pretty major update to its "NFL '12" app last night that brings some pretty nice features for anyone who uses the app:

What's in this version:

- All new Thursday Night Football Xtra companion experience
- Completely redesigned Videos section (Android tablet only)
- Access to the NFL.com/Live look-in show for TNF (Android tablet only)
- Ability to share all your favorite News

Sony's Ice Cream Sandwich Update For The Xperia Sola Introduces "Glove Mode", Allows You To Control Your Phone Whilst Wearing Gloves

Smartphones are great; they organize our lives, provide us with news and information, and keep us in touch with friends no matter how far away they may be. Smartphone gloves on the other hand? Not so much. They don't do a great job of keeping your hands warm in the cold weather, and they aren't exactly renowned for their comfort.

Fortunately for Xperia sola users, Sony has you covered. The Ice Cream Sandwich update for the sola, which began today, includes a new feature called "glove mode" which, you guessed it, allows you to wear any pair of gloves and still use your smartphone.

Sony Tablet S Software Update Rolling Out In The US With Goodies From Xperia Tablet S

Sony's Tablet S (or "S1") was released over a year ago to little hubbub. Still, that's not keeping the increasingly-awesome Sony from shooting a new update out for it with many of the software features of its successor, the Xperia Tablet S. None of them are especially mind-blowing, but they certainly add functionality:

  • Guest Mode
  • Redesigned media players
  • More "Small" (floating) apps
  • Expanded functionality for the remote control app
  • New widgets
  • Social Feed Reader Cloud has been updated to Socialife
  • Oddly, they suggest people also download Watch Now from the Play store

Otherwise, things stay basically the same.

Titanium Backup Updated To Version 5.6.0, Adding Ability To Restore From ADB Backup Files, Other Improvements

Those of us with rooted devices and a penchant for flashing ROMs know just how valuable a great backup tool can be. Titanium backup is undoubtedly one of the most popular (and most useful) backup tools around, and it just got an update to version 5.6.0.

The update, which had been floating around as a "test version" prior to official release, brings a few UI enhancements and fixes, an updated set of translations, and improved "Market Doctor" and "Force Attach" functions to repair broken links between apps and the Play Store.

Latest Turntable.fm Update Finally Gets Rid Of Those iOS Buttons, Should Fix A Bunch Of Bugs Too

When turntable.fm first came out on Android, we were excited. In my review, I said that it was a fantastic start, but could use a bit of polish. In no small part, because of those dang iOS-style buttons. While I still believe that iOS- buttons do not single-handedly make a lazy port, it's nice to see that the developer has taken the time to bring the UI in line with the newest guidelines.

Wouldn't you know it - not long after ASUS has to delay the Jelly Bean update for the Transformer Pad Infinity, Acer silently starts pushing the update to the Iconia Tab A700.

Considering there are zero details at this time, we have no idea what changes have been made, but hopefully Acer found a way to make this HD tablet run a little smoother this go around.

Transformer Pad Infinity Jelly Bean Update Delayed In The US And Canada - Should Be Available 'Early Next Week'

Just yesterday, ASUS promised both TF201 and TF700 owners their Jelly Bean updates on September 28th and 29th, respectively. While they owned up to that for the Prime, the Infinity isn't so lucky: they just had to push the update back.

According to ASUS rep Gary Key, "a couple of applications that were recently updated (Facebook 1.9.10 on 9/20 as one example) required a last minute firmware update for the keyboard to operate correctly in the "Comment" area with Android 4.1."

It's not all bad, though - the update should still begin rolling out early next week.
