New phones and tablets aren't the only thing that Samsung will unveil in Barcelona. A recent Twitter post indicates that the company will reveal a new line of Exynos mobile processors, cryptically titled "Exynos Infinity." The post from the official Exynos account omitted any other details, but a debut during the Samsung Unpacked event on February 24th (concurrent with, but technically distinct from, Mobile World Congress) is a safe bet.
The Galaxy S5 may or may not be coming to Samsung's Unpacked event in Barcelona, but reliable leak source SamMobile thinks it is. The specialist site is reporting a series of leaks for the camera in Samsung's next flagship, starting with its sensor, a new 16-megapixel module. That would give the S5 more photo fidelity than the current Galaxy S4 and Note 3, but still it would still lag behind Sony's best-in-class 20.7MP sensor. Read More
Mobile World Congress starts in just under two weeks. As with most of the big mobile shows, Samsung will be doing its own thing with an Unpacked event, which the company already announced last week. For some reason Samsung has decided to issue a second announcement, this time with a tiny bit more information. And lots of fives.
The new invitation image includes nine generic app-style icons, all with a "5" superscript. Read More
It feels like we just got done with CES, but Mobile World Congress is looming heavy on the horizon. As usual, Samsung will be there with bells on, but it will shun the show floor in favor of a dedicated Unpacked event. The first Unpacked venue of the year has been set for Monday, February 24th, according to Samsung Tomorrow. It will start at 8:00 PM local time (2:00 PM Eastern), putting it right at the end of the show's first day. Read More
Take a look at that image. That one right down there. See that? It's the first reliable bit of information that indicates what the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch will look like.
Perennial leakster @evleaks just posted two screenshots on his Twitter profile, purportedly from the Manager companion app for the Galaxy Gear. They show an NFC pairing system not unlike the latest Sony Smartwatch sans strap, a few apps in a screen not unlike the Pebble Smartwatch app, and not much else. Read More
It's not often that you'll see executives of multi-billion-dollar international companies speak frankly about unannounced products, but The Korea Times managed to get a few gems of information out of Samsung Executive Vice President of Mobile Lee Young-Hee. She confirmed that the Galaxy Note III will be unveiled at the upcoming September 4th "Unpacked" event (which is hardly a surprise), and also that the often-rumored Galaxy Gear smartwatch will be in attendance. It was only a matter of time. Samsung just sent out invitations to the their latest Unpacked press event, this time labeled "Episode 2." It's scheduled for 1PM EST on September 4th, just under one month from today, before the annual IFA show in Berlin. Android newshounds will recall that the original Galaxy Note got its debut at the same venue back in 2011.
There's little doubt that new Note hardware will be the focus of this event: stylized text reading "NOTE THE DATE" is emblazoned on the invite. Read More
I'm at Radio City Music Hall checking out the Samsung Galaxy S4. Tell me, have you seen the Galaxy S3? Then you've pretty much seen the GS4. There have been a few cosmetic tweaks, and a spec bump, but it's mostly a "Galaxy S 3S."
The screen is probably the biggest upgrade. It's been fitted with a 5-inch, 1080p AMOLED display, and it looks gorgeous. The viewing angles are perfect. Read More
Update: It's official. Samsung Just Officially Unveiled 'The Next Big Thing' – Come Meet The Galaxy S4!
The next Galaxy's unveiling is finally upon us at 7PM Eastern/4PM Pacific tonight, March 14th. Come back to this page a few minutes early to watch the event stream live as well as follow our live blog. Don't forget to bring a snack - it'll likely go for well over an hour.
We may have already discovered some of the features and a possible look of the S IV, but there's always a chance that the leaks we've been seeing, which all came from the same dual-SIM device in China, aren't actually representative of the final hardware. Read More
The existence of the successor to Samsung's surprise hit Galaxy Note is hardly a secret. And if they're going to display it anywhere, it'll be at the IFA in Berlin, where the original was first shown off last year. It looks like Sammy is done with subtle insinuations (not to mention tablet adaptations) and is ready to formally tease us: they've posted the first video for their Unpacked event at the show later this month.
