With the flagship Transformer Pad Infinity (TF700) release right around the corner and the release of the budget-oriented Transformer Pad (TF300) a few months ago, Asus has filled out it's line-up of 10" quad-core Android tablets. Obviously, most people would opt for the highest of the high-end (that'd be the TF700) if they were just looking to blow money. Unfortunately, most people aren't just looking for ways to spend as much money as possible, so instead, they spend enough to cover their needs.

Asus Transformer Pad Infinity (TF700 Wi-Fi) Review: At The Crossroads Of Pixels And Power

Fun fact: a 1080p display packs 2,073,600 pixels. The Asus Transformer Pad Infinity (or TF700)? 2,304,000 - or 230,400 more. Most 1080p HDTVs are somewhere around 40-60 inches. The TF700 checks in at just 10. Compared to a 40" HDTV, that's 111% of the pixels in a package that's 6.25% of the size.

The screen may be the real headline feature with the Infinity, but it's not the only one worthy of note. It's still powered by NVIDIA's Tegra 3 "4-PLUS-1" CPU, but it's a newer revision that packs a little more punch. The RAM, too, has seen an upgrade, and the screen is now protected by Gorilla Glass 2.

ASUS Teases The 'Next Transformations' For CompuTex 2012 In Taipei

In typical ASUS fashion, the Taiwanese company has released a teaser video for its upcoming showcase at CompuTex 2012 in Taipei, Taiwan. As usual, the video is about as vague as it gets, only making a brief reference to the cloud and the "next transformations," suggesting that we'll a see a "new" entry into the Transformer line.

Update: As one of the comments points out, the tags indicated that this may actually be a Windows 8 Transformer:

However, I wouldn't get my hopes up for an entirely new device - I'd be willing to wager a large sum that this will just be the official unveiling of the Transformer Pad Infinity, the big brother to the Transformer Prime that features a 1920x1200 display.

Small OTA Update v9.2.1.24 Rolling Out To Transformer TF101 In U.S. And Canada, Brings Face Unlock, Additional Features, And Stability Enhancements

Hey all you OG Transformer owners - wanna unlock your tablet by looking at it? Better start hitting that 'System Updates' button, because ASUS just started pushing an OTA that will let you do just that. This update not only brings Face Unlock to the device, but a handful of other features and fixes:

  • Improves system stability
  • Improves Email App stability
  • Improves MyNet stability
  • Improves MyLibrary stability
  • Add System Bar Lock: Lock the system bar  when playing games  
  • Add Email App new feature: Email download size/Thread/Out of office notification/Mail Sync schedule

The update should be rolling out to all TF101's in the U.S.

ASUS Releases Firmware, Kernel Source Code For The Transformer Pad 300 (TF300T)

Happy Star Wars day, everyone! ASUS got you a present: it's firmware updates with a side of source code! You can head to ASUS' site right now and download firmware version V9.4.3.17 for a few countries including the US, as well as version V9.2.3.23 if you're in Japan. Kernel source code for the TF300T is also available, in both x.17 and x.23 flavors for your downloading pleasure.

Asus Transformer Pad 300 Review: 85% Of The Premium Tablet Experience For 80% Of The Price

Meet the TF300T, the newest addition to Asus's ever-expanding line of Android tablets. While the model number may suggest that it's the successor to the TF201 - the Transformer Prime - that's not exactly the case. Pick one up and it's immediately clear that this is really the successor to the TF101 (the original Transformer, or TF); it's wrapped in plastic like the 101 (the 201 is aluminum), and the dimensions are a bit more portly, as with the 101.

Perhaps more importantly, the price marks this as a successor to the 101 - and shows that the 300 slots below the 201.

ICS Update Build 9.2.1.21 For The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer (TF101) Rolling Out Now

ASUS just started pushing yet another update to the original Transformer (TF101) that brings a handful of enhancements:

  • Improves system stability
  • Improves email stability
  • Improves AppBackup App
  • Improves MyLibrary stability
  • Supports Wi-Fi Direct
  • Supports unzip in File Manager
  • Add restore tab function in Browser

Some users reported that the update hit their device last night, but it should be rolling out in full force beginning today.

To see if the update is available on your device, head into Settings > About tablet > System Firmware Update > Check Update.

The ASUS Transformer Prime is the hottest Android tablet on store shelves right now, and for good reason; it's thin, fast, powerful, and well-featured. But there's one shortcoming that ruffled a lot of feathers: very poor GPS performance. The company acknowledged the issue and rolled out numerous OTA updates to the device in hopes that a software patch would fix the issue, but to no avail.
