gunbros

If there was ever a contender for mobile game with the highest mullet to tact ratio, it's Gun Bros. The top-down shooter made a splash when it released on Android in 2011, sitting atop the Market charts for months. Now it's high time for the lads of F.R.A.G.G.E.D. to head back into battle, this time in a full 3D smorgasbord of Arnold-grade action. Glu Mobile has released an early trailer for the game, and while there's no date, it should be enough to thoroughly whet the appetites of the game's current fans.

It would be great if Valve would make games for Android, right? Oh, what's this? It looks like Team Fortress 2, and sounds like Team Fortress 2, but it is not Team Fortress 2. What you're seeing here is Blitz Brigade, the new upcoming game from Gameloft. Yes, it appears the developer has finally gotten around to imitating Valve's smash hit first-person shooter. Let's not be too cynical, though. The trailer looks pretty neat.

Yes, we know, Disney bought Lucasfilm. No, there aren't going to be any spoilers about the plot, director, amount of direct involvement from George Lucas, or any other details about the upcoming Episode VII movie, no matter how much you (meaning me) want there to be so you (again, me) can stop worrying. What we do have is birds with force powers, giant flying fuzzballs, and, allegedly, the droids you're looking for.

We're getting closer and closer to Gameloft's newest release title, Wild Blood. We've seen teasers and trailers for the game leading up to this point. Finally, though, we've gotten something resembling a release date and you're in it. Wild Blood will land on the Play Store "in September," so you can expect it anytime between the end of the month and right now!

...Okay, maybe not right now. But soon!

Gameloft has released the first gameplay trailer for its upcoming Android game, Wild Blood. The game will be the first Gameloft title based on the Unreal Engine, and the action-packed, blood-filled trailer certainly doesn't disappoint.

This is the second trailer to be released for the game, with a teaser trailer being unveiled a few weeks ago. Gameloft has promised that the game will be coming "very soon" to Android. It will likely be followed by the company's other title based on the Unreal Engine, March of Heroes.

Unity3D has paved the road for some seriously stunning mobile games, and as smartphones and tablets continue to become more powerful, 3D shooters and other graphics-intensive apps will finally begin to reach their full potential.

A perfect example of this is MadFinger's latest project: Shadowgun, which we last saw in May. The OTS (over-the-shoulder) shooter puts you in the shoes of John Slade, an assassin hired to surreptitiously sneak into Dr.

I'll admit, I don't keep up too much on Gameloft's Android offerings, but the developer has received a reputation for releasing some of the higher quality Android games available (just not on the Market).

Their latest offering, whose release date is unknown, is March Of Heroes. What makes March Of Heroes different is that the game has been built on the Unreal Engine, which is a much more configurable and modern engine, and is probably the most advanced game engine on any mobile platform.

Rovio Mobile's award-winning Angry Birds. 20th Century Fox's upcoming Rio. A perfect match?

2011-01-28 19h36_45

Rovio and 20th Century Fox obviously think so - they've teamed up to develop a new version of Angry Birds based entirely on Rio. They say it's coming to "app stores" in March (hopefully that includes the Android Market), and will feature 45 levels to call its own. Check out this cinema-quality teaser video Rovio released:

Looks like the Angry Birds brand isn't going away anytime soon - which could be either good news or bad news, depending on how you look at it.
