We share most funny videos via our social accounts (you're following, right?), but once in a while a video comes along that is so beyond hilarious that it can no longer be the outcast doomed to bounce around social networks. It needs to be right here, on the front page. Such was the case with the best phone review on the Internet and such is the case with Mr. BPJ.

You see, Big Papa Joe loves Samsung. Specifically, he loves TouchWiz. Loves. BPJ is either a professional troll (if so, he needs get out on stage at a local comedy club) or is truly comical without even realizing it.

Yesterday, a great thread titled Share One Awesome Tip or Trick You Do With Your Android Phone, I'll Start... popped up on Reddit, and thinking I would be already aware of all the little tricks, I almost ignored it. By the end of the day, seeing over 100 comments piqued my curiosity, so I checked it out.

To my dismay, among all the great tips, I found one, courtesy of kennansoft, that somehow evaded me all along - and it was available in my own stock Epic 4G Touch Galaxy S II ROM of all things.

The tip itself is very simple - if you turn off auto-brightness, you can just place your finger on the notification area (as you can see in red below) and swipe it left and right to control brightness.

New FCC Filing Hints At Samsung Galaxy S II LTE HD Coming To The USA

A phone with model name SHV-E120L recently passed through the FCC. Despite our initial excitement that it could be the Galaxy Nexus (née Prime), it turned out to be none other than the Samsung Galaxy S II HD LTE, king of lengthy titles.

We originally saw this phone announced last month in Korea, where Samsung wowed with a spacious 4.65" screen, 1280 x 720 resolution, and disappointingly restricted geographical range. Still, if you're itching for a phone with specs to compete with the upcoming Nexus, plus TouchWiz on Gingerbread, this filing could be the good news you were hoping for.

Finally it's T-Mobile's turn to take a swing at the Samsung Galaxy S II, almost six months after the rest of the world. No adjective soup for this variant; its official name is, plainly, the "T-Mobile Galaxy S II." Formerly known as the "Hercules," this is the misfit in the GSII family. In its heart pumps a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, instead of the normal Samsung Exynos. So it's not just a carbon copy of all those other GSIIs. My initial impressions were posted a few days ago, and since then I've had some time to see if this thing was really worth the wait.

Introduction

It's now been exactly a year (minus one day) since I published my very first editorial for Android Police, Let Android Be Android. A lot has changed since - dual-core CPUs are now table stakes for a high-end smartphone; Android has evolved from an exclusively mobile OS to a software powerhouse for phones and tablets alike; and we've been given several seminars on stretching the truth about the speed of a wireless network (yep, that would be the "4G" drama).

Sadly, one thing has remained almost entirely stagnant: the diminutive amount of vanilla Android devices on the market. In fact, it would be more than accurate to say that the skin situation has been exacerbated since my article on it last year.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Keyboard Dock Revisited - This Time With TouchWiz UX

A little less than a week ago, Artem shared his thoughts on the keyboard dock for the Galaxy Tab 10.1. Since this was before the official TouchWiz UX (our review) came out, I figured it deserved another go, as the update fixed several issues.

I'm only going to take on the things that were software related issues this go around, as other aspects (like design) have already been covered. However, I would like to say that, despite its likeness to Apple products, I really like the overall design and feel of this keyboard. It's clean, sleek, and looks great with the white version of the Tab 10.1.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 TouchWiz UX Update Rolling Out On August 5th

Last week we told you that Samsung would be holding an event in NYC on August 3rd (today) to unveil the TouchWiz UX update for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi. That event has come and gone, and while attendees are getting their Tab's updated live, the rest of the country will have to wait until August 5th to see the update. Of course, if you live in NYC, you can swing by The Shops at Columbus Circle between 1:00PM to 6:00PM and get your Tab updated immediately.

The TouchWiz UX update brings some pretty awesome features to the Tab 10.1, like Live Panels, Mini-Mode Tray, an advanced clipboard, Indicator Quick Panel, and a Photo Editor:

Live Panel: Magazine-like widget view for immediate access to weather, social updates, email, news, photo gallery, all on the home screen.

Samsung Galaxy S II Review: Modern And Powerful, But Will Samsung Keep It That Way?

Samsung's original Galaxy S was undoubtedly a great success for the company. One could say it was their first serious smartphone, and its core was widely dispersed around the globe, appearing as the i9000 in Europe and Asia, and - perhaps more familiarly - the AT&T Captivate, Sprint Epic 4G, T-Mobile Vibrant, and Verizon Fascinate in the USA. While we have yet to see firm plans for a repeat of this four-pronged attack with the successor to the Galaxy S, the Galaxy S II i9100 (aka the Samsung "It's Over 9000!") is already widely available throughout the rest of the world and is making waves while at it.

Did you catch that? I'm not entirely sure what "indivisual speakers" are, but they must be pretty awesome to end up in the spotlight like that! I kid, I kid.

All joking aside, I still stand by what I said yesterday: Touchwiz UX looks pretty damn good.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Touchwiz UX Update "Coming Soon"

We've known that Samsung planned on pushing its Touchwiz UX custom interface to the Galaxy Tab 10.1 for some time now, and it appears that that time is almost upon us. According to Sammy's official Tab 10.1 page, we can expect to see this update "soon," along with a few other goodies thrown into the mix.

Touchwiz UX looks to bring some incredibly useful features to Honeycomb, like a notification area power widget and an awesome mini-app tray. Phone Arena got a hold of a pre-production model Galaxy Tab 8.9 last month, complete with Touchwiz UX, and shot a video highlighting the new features.
