tegra 2

It looks like LG doesn’t want Samsung to get all the dual core glory. The company has just announced their own plans for dual core smartphones, this time using the the NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor that we’ve already seen power a few Android tablets. The expected Q4 release of these phones (interestingly, the same timeframe as Samsung) seems to line up with the release of an Android-powered LG phone headed to T-Mobile.

Today we are getting a first look at the Toshiba Folio tablet, an Android based powerhouse that was announced at IFA 2010. The Folio looks like it will be another serious contender in what is, apparently, the fast growing market of Android tablets. Looking at its list of features, it should be nothing less than impressive. What features, you ask? How about these:

  • Android 2.2 (Froyo)
  • 10.1" 1024x600 display
  • Bluetooth
  • Front facing camera
  • WiFi 802.11B/G/N
  • 3G capable
  • Nvidia Tegra 2 processor (Yeah, that's dual-core)
  • Capacitive display with multitouch support
  • USB host input(!!!)
  • Price €399 WiFi / €499 WiFI & 3G

The tablet looks like it is shaping up to be an awesome device, but based on what we're seeing right now, it still has some hills to climb.

If you’ve been waiting for a high-quality Android tablet… you may just have to wait a little bit longer. Due to investor issues, the Notion Ink Adam tablet has been delayed yet again, with the release date being pushed back to late 2010.

After first unveiling the tablet back in December, Notion Ink received enough money from investors in February 2010, but since then the device has been delayed repeatedly due to a variety of issues.

Dell Looking Glass 7" tablet

Dell has completely stolen the news spotlight today with a flood of PR, carefully leaked (so I think) to Engadget.

We now have more details about a device that used to be named "Streak 7" - Dell's 7" Android tablet leaked to Engadget a week ago. The previous leak mentioned that Dell's tablet line with an already announced 5" version called Streak 5 would be augmented by 2 more devices - a 7" and a 10" Streaks.
