Getting your hands on a budget tablet for around a hundred bucks isn't particularly challenging, but these decidedly underwhelming gadgets typically don't come with the latest version of Android. Toshiba intends to do budget shoppers one better by providing them with a 7-inch tablet with Android 4.4, all for $110. This little guy goes by the name of Excite Go.

You're not going to want the upcoming ASUS Transformer TF103, and neither is your mom (or Cameron's, for that matter). The Android community has known about the existence of the tablet for a few months now, but only recently have the specs hit the web. Is it good on paper? Well, let's just say this Intel Bay Trail-powered device is retro, and not in the good way.

TF103

The Asus Transformer TF103 is, like all of the other devices that share its brand, a tablet that plugs into a keyboard dock.

Just minutes ago we posted about the discovery of an Android 4.4.3 changelog in AOSP and we've already found some interesting information. Among the individual project repositories, there are a few dedicated to Google-supported devices, mostly those in the Nexus family. In particular, we came across new references to an HTC device codenamed "Flounder," and another device belonging to Google with the name "Molly." This is the first time that these names have appeared in AOSP.

If you think that Samsung's "Pro" line of tablets are too expensive, you're in good company. And apparently that company includes the folks at Amazon, because they've discounted every Galaxy Tab Pro and Note Pro model by a considerable margin. They're still expensive, at least compared to other Android tablets, but they might be a little more palatable with a lower price tag.

Today at its "A Touch More Connected" launch event in New York, Acer pulled the curtain off a plethora of new electronics. Most of them were Windows products, but a couple are here for those who would prefer something running Android: the Iconia Tab 7 and the Iconia One 7. Neither product is particularly powerful, and the latter gives consumers another One product to keep up with.

The Iconia Tab 7 has an unspecified quad-core processor, a 1280x800 display, a microSD card slot, and up to 6 hours of battery life.
