[Deal Alert] Vizio 8-Inch VTAB1008 Tablet $199 With Free Shipping From Amazon

Remember that weird little Vizio tablet that was released back in July? Yeah, the one that works as a remote control for your Vizio Google TV. I feel like I'm not alone in thinking that it was slightly under-spec'd and drastically overpriced at launch, even if you can justify its use with your TV. Fortunately, Amazon has taken care of the latter issue by dropping the price down to a much more reasonable $199 with free shipping.

[Updated] ASUS: Ice Cream Sandwich On Existing Tablets Before Year's End, Transformer Prime Info, Padfone in Q1 2012

ASUS has been hard at work on the successor to the company's first foray into the Android tablet market, the ASUS Transformer.

Transformer Prime

The Transformer's yet-to-be-officially-named sequel (Update: The name turned out to be... Transformer Prime) was shown off today by ASUS chairman Johnny Shih - and boy, is this thing thin. ASUS's next Android tablet will be a mere 8.3mm in profile and stick with the 10.1-inch screen form factor.

ASUS Releases Teaser For The Next Transformer - Let The Anticipation Begin

The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer is, if nothing else, a unique breed of tablet, conveniently offering the functionality of a netbook at your whim, with the addition of a handy keyboard dock. It is, no doubt, a capable piece of hardware, but (in my opinion) it seems a bit awkward and bulky. Of course, upon its release, speculation about its successor began almost immediately.
