I love Evernote. In fact, I don't go a single day without using it. And today, I love it even more. The Evernote Team just pushed an update to the Android app that makes it even more useful on tablets by introducing an all-new user interface.

Here's what I love about it: the old interface was good. It was functional and intuitive, I had no complaints. But the new interface is better and more intuitive.

We've been eagerly awaiting information on when the Nexus 7 will be shipping to individual customers. Well, it looks like the wait is nearly over. If you were to call Google's help line right now, you'll get an automated message saying that orders have started shipping now and that all pre-orders should ship within the next 3 business days.

Here's the full message:

"We're now shipping Nexus 7 pre-orders. The first wave of orders are going out today and all pre-orders are scheduled to ship within the next 3 business days.

Though we've seen Android run on a number of devices beyond just phones and tablets, it's always nice to see another company turn to Android for specialized purposes. It seems that Boeing is doing just that, having recently unveiled Android-powered entertainment systems for their 787 Dreamliner jet.

Boeing announced that it will offer two different entertainment systems for the 787, both of them running Android - the Panasonic eX3, and the Thales TopSeries Avant.

This is the latest in our Weekend Poll series. For last week's, see Are You Happy With The Improvements Made In Jelly Bean?

Now that the real, thorough reviews have landed, you've hopefully had a chance to read thorough some of them and get an intimate look at the Nexus 7. To summarize David's review:

The scary thing about the Nexus 7 is that I can't think of a good reason not to go out and buy one.

AndroidTM-4.0 ICS

Well, would you look at what the cat dragged in: ARCHOS, the now-infamous king of cheap Android tablets, has just announced a whole new line of low-end ICS slates - aka "ELEMENTS." Though the line will eventually feature 7", 8", and 9.7" devices, today's announcement was limited to the ARCHOS 97 Carbon, which (as its name suggests) is of the 9.7" variety.

Before you get too excited, though, check out the rather extremely lackluster spec list:

  • 1GHz single-core ARM Cortex A8 processor
  • 1 GB of RAM
  • 21.8 ounces
  • 0.45" thick
  • 9.7" IPS display
  • 16GB of internal flash memory
  • microSD card slot
  • Google app access, including the Play Store
  • Android 4.0

The device will go on sale later this July for $229.99 - $249.99.

Owners of ASUS' original Eee Pad Transformer have something to be excited about, as the update to software version 9.2.1.27 began rolling out earlier today.

While the update isn't too exciting (keeping the device at Android 4.0.3), it does bring a handful of fixes that TF101 users have been waiting for for some time. Among them are fixes for video playback, Chrome performance, and various app performance issues. Unofficial user reports indicate that the update may also bring smoother performance overall.

The tech blog reports that Amazon may be preparing for a July 31st launch event to announce the next Kindle-branded tablet.

CNET's sources also point to a built-in camera and physical volume controls among the additions.
