You Want This Homemade Android Arcade Cabinet - No, That's Not A Question

Arcade cabinet mods are certainly nothing new. Ever since the kids of the late 70s and early 80s grew up into the adults of the late 90s and early aughts, the internet has been filled with folks building wooden boxes around computers and joysticks. Today's example, though, uses an Android tablet and a Tatsunoko vs. Capcom fight stick for what might be one of the cheapest, easiest-to-replicate Arcade cabinets around.

Unfortunately, the creator of this particular mod hasn't included instructions on how to follow in his footsteps (yet), but the cabinet does appear to be fairly straightforward.

Negri Electronics Tweets Pics Of The Galaxy Note 10.1, Says It "Ships 8/3" - Color Us Confused

Well, this is...odd. To say the least. Tonight, Negri Electronics, which is a well-respected and reputable dealer in consumer electronics, tweeted the picture of a partially-unboxed Galaxy Note 10.1, claiming that the device "Ships 8/3", and included the hashtag "#beforefirst." It's a little unclear what "#beforefirst" means. Maybe Negri gets to ship the product before everyone else? Or is it that pre-orders are starting? You can pre-order on Negri's site right now, so maybe that's it. However, the ship date of tomorrow sounds, well, sudden.

For starters, there are not one but two Samsung events coming up in the near future.

Manufacturers, you're awful at naming things. Sorry. It's true. In many cases, you've either muddied the brand of your flagship devices, or made it incredibly difficult for customers to know what they should be asking for when they walk into a store. This is probably not a good thing since you want customers to buy your stuff. More than that, though, you want them to love your stuff, so they'll buy more of it. Making it easier to say the name of the product will go a long way towards that goal.

Today, I'm going to help you with this problem.

ARCHOS' 97 Carbon Tablet Is Now On Sale, Costs $249, Redefines Cheap Tablets (As 'Expensive')

I hate to be the Negative Nancy or the Debbie Downer here. Mostly because I hate those disgustingly cute terms for "pessimistic". However, the ARCHOS 97 Carbon tablet arrives at a particularly rough time. Today, ARCHOS' newest tablet is available via the company's web store. ARCHOS has a history of being the leader in inexpensive tablets. Unfortunately, with the advent of the Nexus 7, the competition just got a lot stiffer.

Take a look at the spec list for the 97 Carbon:

Blazing Star Of Neo Geo And Engrish Fame Comes To Android, Encourages You To 'Get It More!'

Way, way, way back in the day, when dinosaurs roamed the Earth and you couldn't say "pants" on television, video games came in these little plastic boxes and you had to blow magic breath on them to get them to work. Back in those days, the name Neo Geo might've been more readily recognizable, as would the game Blazing Star. For the uninitiated, Blazing Star is a side-scrolling space shooter. A lucky video appears!

You may not immediately recognize the game, but your life has probably been influenced by Blazing Star in some form or another. According to internet historians (bet you never thought that could be a job), this shooter is indirectly responsible for the "FAIL" meme.

US Cellular Variant Of The HTC Flyer Finally Gets Honeycomb Upgrade, Someone Must Care, Right?

Way back in December, the HTC Flyer, the first Android tablet to be designed around stylus input, finally got an upgrade to Honeycomb. Now, the update is available to US Cellular customers who happen to own this tablet. Now, I know what you're thinking. "US Cellular? HTC Flyer? Honeycomb? Holy crap, my time machine works!" Well, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but no.

The update is available via a download on HTC's website. Unfortunately, an OTA update is not available. If you run a Windows machine, you can download the upgrade (a word we're using generously here) directly. Mac users, on the other hand, will have to head to a US Cellular store for help in updating their HTC ~~Generic~~ Flyer.

Samsung Releases Commercial For The Galaxy Note 10.1, Reminds Us The Galaxy Note 10.1 Exists

When the Galaxy Note came out, the cynics and skeptics (myself included) scoffed. "Too big for a phone, too small for a tablet" we said. Well, as it turns out, quite a few people bought it. However, as much as some people may have liked the Note, it's hard to disagree that the stylus would feel more at home on a full-size tablet. Which is exactly what the Galaxy Note 10.1, shown in this shiny new ad, aimed to accomplish.

Of course, we haven't heard much about this device since it was announced at MWC back in February. At the time, the device lacked a few notable features, particularly the slot for the S-Pen which was actually added to a retooled version of the device more recently.
