Google may be working on a large third phone or tablet, codenamed 'taimen'

Just yesterday, Android Police exclusively reported on the codenames of the next Pixel phones, 'muskie' and 'walleye.' Google's products have long carried codenames inspired by aquatic animals, such as 'hammerhead' (Nexus 5), 'shamu' (Nexus 6), 'angler' (Nexus 6P), etc. Now, we're hearing that Google may have a third device, codenamed 'taimen,' in the works.

Lenovo Yoga A12 review: How can so many bad ideas fit in one tablet?

I wanted to review one of Lenovo's unique tablet-with-a-kinda-sorta-keyboard-touchpad models as soon as I saw them. My Android Police colleagues thought the core idea behind the Yoga A12 was dumb, saddling the flexibility of a tablet with the extra size and weight of a laptop while taking away its greatest advantage, a full keyboard. So I asked Lenovo for a review unit. They told me no. That probably should have been a second hint that this wasn't going to be an especially impressive product.

As expected, the Galaxy Tab S3 will cost around $600 in the US according to Best Buy

When we had our hands-on look at the latest Samsung tablet, we guessed that it would be priced to compete with the 10-inch version of the iPad Pro, if only because its included stylus and sold-separately keyboard seemed intended to appeal to that same "productive" tablet niche. Thanks to an early listing from Best Buy (since Samsung still hasn't given us a straight answer), we now know that yes, indeed it will. The Galaxy Tab S3 starts at $599.99 USD for the Wi-Fi model.

Shadowmatic

Android Police coverage: Shadowmatic is a gorgeous puzzle game of space and silhouettes

Shadowmatic took its sweet, sweet time coming to Android, but the game is so pretty I'm minded to forgive it. It's extremely simple: spin and tilt one or more 3D shapes floating in the air to get the shadow to form the shape desired.

[Hands-on] Samsung announces its latest premium Android tablet, the Galaxy Tab S3, with a stand-alone S-Pen

Samsung seems to be pretty much the only player in the shrunken market of premium Android tablets – even Google doesn’t appear all that keen on any new Pixel tablet hardware. The Galaxy Tab S line started with a bang as the only tablet option with an AMOLED screen, while the Tab S2 aligned Samsung’s designs more closely with Apple’s iPad Mini and Air. The latest version of the hardware, announced today at Mobile World Congress, seems to be aimed squarely at the 9.7-inch version of the iPad Pro, thanks to a redesigned metal/glass body and a stand-alone “S-Pen” stylus.
