Last Updated: November 14th, 2014

Last week's update to the Motorola Connect support app showed off the "Keylink," an accessory we hadn't seen before. Based on the shots of the app, it looked like a simple Bluetooth gadget that lived on your keyring and made it easy to find your keys from your phone, or vice versa. Now it looks like Motorola has officially launched the Keylink: one of our readers spotted at least one T-Mobile retail store selling it for $24.99.

You know how no one will take your stupid money for a Nexus 6? Well, T-Mobile was supposed to start trading phones for money-dollars tomorrow (November 12th), but that's not happening anymore. The company has just announced that it's pushed back the N6 launch by one week to November 19th.

T-Mobile has posted the changelog for an over-the-air update now rolling out to Xperia Z1s owners. The primary new feature is the inclusion of in-flight texting support. This way users can communicate with folks on the ground for free via Gogo thanks to a partnership T-Mobile debuted a couple months back.

This isn't all the OTA has to offer. The update will provide the Xperia Z1s with Wi-Fi calling enhancements, which are always a nice thing to see considering the carrier's reliance on Wi-Fi networks to complement its cellular network.

Google's pre-order sales of the Nexus 6 on the US Play Store have been, to put it delicately, crap. By my estimate all four storage and color variants of the phone have been available for ordering for a grand total of about twenty minutes over the last two weeks, and Motorola hasn't fared much better selling them on its own site. If you're waiting for the retail release of the Nexus 6...

T-Mobile is pushing out an over-the-air update that will bump its Galaxy Tab 4 up to Android 4.4.4. This means that people who own this 8.0-inch LTE-enabled tablet will get to run the latest version of their mobile operating system for at least a week before 5.0 starts running out to various devices. Since this is a bugfix release, that's the biggest reason most users will have to look forward to this OTA.

T-Mobile is currently pushing out an over-the-air update to its version of HTC's flagship phone that bumps the software up to Android 4.4.4. Interestingly enough, getting the latest version of KitKat isn't the highlight of this release. This OTA also comes with the suite of features bundled together as the HTC Eye Experience, which the manufacturer detailed in a selfie-themed event where it unveiled the Desire EYE.

The Eye Experience, which we've previously detailed more in-depth, introduces numerous features that range from useful to just plain gimmicky.

note 10.1 2014

If you're an owner of an LTE Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition on T-Mobile (SM-P607T), today could be your lucky day. If you head on over to your tablet's settings and check for an update, you may just have a surprise waiting for you. According to Samsung, a new Android 4.4.4 update is available. This update is significant, not just for its Android version bump, but also because it means that an LTE variant of this tablet is getting said bump before its WiFi-only counterpart.

Many T-Mobile users rely on Wi-Fi calling to use their mobile number without needing access to the mobile network, but they aren't Nexus 5 owners. That handset, due to its lack of carrier modifications, didn't support T-Mobile's nifty feature. With the Nexus 6, things will be different. The carrier has already announced that it is bringing Wi-Fi calling to the handset.

T-Mobile says it will deliver Wi-Fi calling via an over-the-air update at some point in early 2015, thanks, it says, to enhancements in Android 5.0.

T-Mobile will continue to go it alone in the wilds of the US wireless industry after French telecom Iliad has announced it is dropping plans to buy the carrier from parent company Deutsche Telekom. Iliad's leadership had imposed a deadline of mid-October to decide whether to increase its previously rejected offer of $15 billion for a 56.6% stake in the Uncarrier. That's not happening, so the dream is dead.

Iliad first announced the offer as Sprint was reportedly in the late stages of acquisition talks with T-Mobile.

Sony's latest and greatest has been expected on T-Mobile for a few weeks, but now it's official. The Xperia Z3 will be available from T-Mobile on October 29th in stores. However, there's an online-only pre-sale kicking off on October 15th, meaning you can get the phone shipped before it's in stores.

The Xperia Z3 has the same 20.7MP camera most of Sony's recent phones have used, but the other specs are a bit improved with a 5.2-inch 1080p screen, 3100mAh battery, Snapdragon 801, and 3GB of RAM.
