FolderSync Is An Amazingly Powerful Syncing Utility With OCD-Level Controls

Alright, control freaks (otherwise known as "my people"), this one's for you. FolderSync is a fantastic little app we've just discovered that lets users sync folders between local storage and a number of online storage services. The app supports one- or two-way sync and provides a host of settings to tweak the app to all your sync needs.

Sync can be done on a schedule or when a folder changes. The user can also control how the app handles overwriting old files, whether to delete missing files, syncing of subfolders, and even to utilize MD5 checksums when syncing. The app works over 3G/4G, although this is disabled by default to preserve your precious geebees.

Miro 4 Allows for Torrenting, Video and Music Syncing, Podcasting and Everything Else Under the Sun

Miro is an open-sourced, free solution to your media problems with Android. It's touted as an all-in-one solution, and with its feature list, I'm not about to disagree. It offers a media player, BitTorrent client, video encoder, music store and device sync component all wrapped up in a single program, which covers some of the problems Android has run into without its own downloadable client.

With your phone connected to your computer, you can use Miro to sync music and video to your phone. It maintains a library by scanning folders, and can even import your current iTunes library on first load.

Modder's Column: Prettying Up That Status Bar On Your HTC Desire Or EVO 4G

Modder’s Column, formerly known as Modder’s Monday, is a column dedicated to rooting, hacking, and other forms of modifying Android and is written by Jaroslav Stekl, a man who spends his days coding, hacking, hiking, and of course, writing for Android Police.

A few editions back, I described several ways to customize your Android device. As you may recall, one of my main points was changing up the status bar using apps such as Date Status Bar, Memory Status, Status Toggle, and Battery Percentage. The last of those four apps in particular has one big issue: it places another icon in your status bar.
