UPDATE: Dell Streak Orders Not Being Taken Today, Or In July At All For That Matter

UPDATE 3: We’ve been informed that in an interview earlier today, spokesman Matt Parretta claimed that the capture from the Dell website below was a mistake. Parretta also says he knew nothing about the page’s statement that the phone would be available in late July, saying “I’ve never said that.” (I guess I’ll take him at his word).

Shame on Dell for putting us through all this!

UPDATE 2: It seems those who made it on the Dell Streak pre-order list can expect an e-mail some time today with a link to purchase their new phone. Pricing comes in at $299 for new or extended 2-year AT&T contracts, and a whopping $549 for those looking to purchase it unsubsidized.

Dell Streak Tablet-Phone Headed To AT&T Stores Next Week?

Engadget has done a little bit of conjecturing and made a pretty convincing argument that the half tablet, half phone Dell Streak (specs available here) will be hitting US shores in AT&T stores next week. The evidence? An AT&T store has locked down the smartphone section of its sales floor for the erection of a new product display and implemented security measures that make the TSA seem lax.

Employees are required to sign non-disclosure agreements, and some are “on the chopping block” for getting a little too curious about the displays. Given the amount of coverage and advertisement the Captivate has gotten, it’s unlikely AT&T would care too much about people seeing the device’s sales display before its unveiling.

Dell Streak Officially Announced For The UK, Available In The US Later This Summer

One of Dell’s worst kept secrets, the Dell Streak, has finally been officially unveiled by Dell. The phone/tablet hybrid is slated to launch in early June and will be available exclusively on the O2 mobile carrier in the UK.

I haven’t had the chance to play with one yet, but the Dell Streak seems like it will be a bit of an awkward phone, primarily due to its massive screen. With a 5 inch screen the phone attempts to fill in the gap between full blown tablets and cellphones…a gap that I’m not sure necessarily needed to be filled. From what I’ve read, the phone looks a bit goofy when held up to the face and used for calls.

Dell Leaks Continue: Streak 5 And Aero Get Fully Spec'ed

Looks like this is the last set of Android related Dell leaks that Engadget miraculously dug up yesterday.

The first leak shines some light on the Dell Aero - Dell's upcoming budget Android phone. Previously, the only information we had about this phone was the 3.5" screen, a 5MP camera, and a June release date.

Because of the budget tag, we were now not surprised to find out that the phone would be running a 624MHz Marvell CPU, which is the same CPU the sometimes laggy Spring Design Alex eReader has inside.

It will be running Android 1.5 or 1.6 at launch but a refresh with 2.1 is planned for Q3 or Q4 of this year.

More Details On Dell's "Streak 7" Tablet Emerge - Official Name: "Looking Glass"

Dell has completely stolen the news spotlight today with a flood of PR, carefully leaked (so I think) to Engadget.

We now have more details about a device that used to be named "Streak 7" - Dell's 7" Android tablet leaked to Engadget a week ago. The previous leak mentioned that Dell's tablet line with an already announced 5" version called Streak 5 would be augmented by 2 more devices - a 7" and a 10" Streaks.

In light of this new information, we now know, for starters, the name Streak seems to only apply to the 5" version, while the 7" model will be named "Looking Glass".
