Sprint Pushing Small OTA Updates To The Flash And Epic 4G Touch

A couple of small OTA updates - both of which are primarily bug-fixers - are making their way to the Flash and Epic 4G Touch on Sprint this morning.

Flash owners, you can expect LED blink timing improvements, camera enhancements, better text input with Swype, and a tweak to the information provided in Settings > Applications > Running applications.

The list is actually shorter for the Epic 4G Touch, with only two things in the OTA: it adds Sprint's Connection Optimizer, and brings some security updates. Exciting, I know.

You can see if the update is available on either device by heading into Settings > About phone > System Updates > Update firmware.

Update: The ever-vigilant evleaks has leaked some press-quality shots of the Flash, and wow is the back of this thing ever ugly:

We had some internal documents regarding the upcoming Sprint Flash, a mid-range Android 4.0 handset by ZTE, leak yesterday. Today, we've got some actual pictures of the phone itself, which has a front fascia that absolutely screams "NEXUS!" (and no, it's not a Nexus).

The device model number, N9500, can be found over at the FCC complete with Sprint branding on the FCC label sample, as well.

Details Leak For The Sprint Flash - A Mid-Range Phone With A 12MP Camera, Launching Nov 11 For $129.99

Does a new mid-range Android on Sprint get your juices flowing? Me neither. But we're going to tell you about it anyway. So, this is a new Sprint mid-range budget phone, and we have no idea who it's made by. Take a look at these photos, leaked courtesy of an anonymous tipster:

Our guess on the OEM is ZTE, but don't quote us on it. Given Sprint's relationship with the company in the past (especially on its prepaid subsidiaries), a Sprint-branded ZTE handset would make the most sense. So, what's this Nexus lookalike packing?

All in all, this actually doesn't look like a bad phone, except for the fact that it's probably a ZTE.
