Phew - Nexus Prime Wap File With 480x800 Resolution Just A Placeholder After All

Yesterday we reported on a shocking bit of news discovered within an XML file on Samsung's website. The file nexusprime.xml suggested that the next Nexus device was to have a screen resolution of just 480x800. This, along with the ARM11 processor listed in the file proved to be a source of concern for many, but the bewildering specs seemed too out of place to be true.

After some digging around (thanks, Florin and others who raised valid concerns), a similar file for the Nexus S was discovered on Samsung's site in the very same folder (nexuss.xml).

Samsung Officially Announces The Tab 8.9 LTE And The Upgraded 1.5GHz 4.5" Galaxy S II LTE. Could The US S II Variants Have These Upgrades At Launch?

Whoosh - looks like we can take the report of upgrades to the already impressive Galaxy S II and the upcoming Tab 8.9 from the rumor bucket and place it carefully on top of the confirmed stack. In fact, the rumor was not only spot-on regarding everything Samsung just officially announced, it even had more information that Samsung didn't cover, which means some details will keep the rumor tag until we find out more.

MotoDev Site Confirms Official Droid Bionic Specs, As Underwhelming As They Are

The Droid Bionic. You've heard the name for about three-quarters of the year now, and the hype surrounding the world's first dual-core Droid has seen its fair share of ups and downs. Last week we found out that the device would finally be hitting the streets in September -- too little too late, if you ask me. I'm not entirely sure what market Motorola plans on competing with at that point, as the beastly Galaxy S II should be available on Big Red by then, along with the new iPhone.

Samsung Galaxy S II Invading The UK On May 1, Bringing 1.2GHz Of Firepower With It

In a press release sent out this morning, Samsung has announced that the Galaxy S II will be hitting UK shelves on May 1 - and that it will be targeting all major networks and retailers. The flagship of Samsung's Mobile Division has had its armament upped prior to release, cranking the device's dual-core Exynos processor to an impressive 1.2GHz.

We got to spend a little time with the Galaxy S II at CTIA last month, and the device's slim proportions (8.49mm thick) and light weight were difficult to believe in light of its dual-core status - it's a stealth fighter among jumbo jets like the ATRIX or BIONIC.

Motorola Droid X2 Benchmarks Confirm Tegra 2 Processor And qHD Display

The rumors surrounding the Droid X2's hardware have been kind of sporadic, but it looks like we are starting to get a more definite look at what will be packed under the hood of this device. Some benchmarks that have appeared over at Nenamark are basically confirming the presence of a Tegra 2 dual-core processor and a qHD display, the latter via the device's reported resolution of 960x540.

This new information suggests the device is most likely a finished product and that release is upon us, making a launch sometime in May seem even more plausible.
