Over the years Crescent Moon Games have released more than a few successful mobile titles on the Play Store, and Galaxy Stack is the latest release from the company that should have no problem finding success among its peers. At first blush, Galaxy Stack may look like yet another pixel-based shmup, but it's the odd addition of block stacking mechanics in this title that mixes things up for something pretty unique.
It would appear that TAITO Corporation has not completely forgotten about us Android users when it comes to a mobile version of RAYSTORM. Seeing that iOS received theirs all the way back in 2012, it almost appeared as though we would never see the port. But lo and behold, RAYSTORM has officially been released on the Play Store, and it is just as great as it was on the PS1.

What is this? Another classic Capcom title with the word "Mobile" affixed at the end? If you think that looks eerily familiar to the Mega Man Mobile games recently released on the Play Store, you would be correct. Sadly, this means that 1942 Mobile is not a port of the arcade classic but a rehash of one of their mobile JAVA releases from years back. Yep that is correct, this is a port of a flip-phone game. While not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself the question remains... has Capcom learned from past mistakes?
Some video games are true works of art, immersing the player in deep, believable worlds, surrounding them with thoughtful characters, and tying it all together with organic gameplay to create truly immersive experiences. Some video games strap an AK-47 on a motorcycle and let you make "vroom vroom" noises while shooting more lead than the annual NRA duck hunt. Guess which category Super Psycho Cycle falls into.
Sine Mora got its start on the Xbox Live Arcade last summer and has slowly but surely been spreading to every platform under the sun. The 2.5D space shooter might not be the "legendary cult classic" that its description alludes to, but it's certainly been well-received by shmup fans, and it's now available on Google Play after a brief spell on the Amazon Appstore. It's a bit on the pricy side at $5.99.

I love classic arcade shooters! Neon graphics, fast moving foes, and chirpy sound effects. That style takes me back to the days of playing Asteroid or Galaga on massive cabinets, where reflexes and planning were fundamental and a quarter only bought 3 lives. Spikepit Games brings some of that feeling back with Plasma Sky, but you can keep the change in your pocket.
The developers at int13.net introduced Shogun Rise of the Renegades to the Android Market today, bringing "bullet hell" gameplay reminiscent of Japanese arcade games from the 1990s to the palm of your hand.
