AT&T Motorola Bravo And Flipside Now Available For $130/$100 From AT&T, $0 From Amazon And Wirefly

No matter what you say about AT&T (i.e. how long can they keep locking down sideloading no their Android phones?), at least their commitment to Android has definitely picked up compared to only a few months ago.

Today, as expected, 2 more new Android phones are available on AT&T, namely Motorola Backflip and Motorola Flipout.

Motorola Bravo

The Bravo is a slightly more upscale of the two, but still fails to impress me in any way other than being DLNA-enabled. To refresh your memory, here are the Bravo specs:

  • TI OMAP 3610 800 MHz processor
  • No physical keyboard
  • 512 MB RAM, 2 GB ROM, 2GB microSD preinstalled
  • 3.7", 854 x 480 FWVGA screen
  • 802.11 b/g/n WiFi
  • MOTOBLUR
  • 3MP camera with auto-focus (ugh)
  • DLNA-enabled
  • 1540 mAh battery
  • Android 2.1

The Bravo is available from AT&T for $129.99, but also showed up on Amazon for $0.01 and Wirefly for free.

Get Excited: Notion Ink Updates Adam Release Timelines - Could Ship In Time For Christmas

If there is one Android tablet I am truly excited about (more than the Galaxy Tab, the ViewPad, etc), it's definitely the 10.1" Tegra 2 based dual-core Notion Ink Adam. The tablet has been in the making for as long as I can remember Android tablets even being mentioned, hitting more snags and delays than Duke Nukem and Crunchpad combined. However, Notion Ink's incredible (simply stunning really - just flip through their blog) attention to detail that can only be rivaled by Apple, in my opinion, will make the wait seem like a negligible price to pay when we are finally able to buy the darn thing.

T-Mobile's Samsung Vibrant is still a pretty hot phone, but with the release of the G2 and the upcoming myTouch 4G, Amazon decided to throw a blowout sale for only 1 penny again, just like it did back in August.

This time, however, existing customers upgrading their handsets and extending their contracts are no longer left in the dust. As always, no taxes or shipping fees are involved. But you already knew that, didn't you - it's Amazon after all.

And I still remember the time when $150 was considered a good deal...

Lucky XDA User Gets His T-Mobile G2 Early, Discovers Trackpad LED And Posts Videos

Over at XDA-Developers, Hitorii just got his sweet new T-Mobile G2. Naturally, before even opening the box, he went and told everyone about it. Wouldn't you? I am super jealous, anyway.

He also made a neat new discovery that we had not heard of before: the trackpad has an LED surround, which glows white on new notifications. He wasn't able to get it to glow any other colour, even using apps that do have coloured notifications, so it looks like the LED is not the same as the RGB light of the Nexus One. It's still a nifty looking feature, and must have been a pleasant surprise.

Move Over T-Mobile, Samsung Vibrant Now Available From Amazon.com For $149.99, With A Free 2-Day Shipping

Samsung Vibrant - the Galaxy S series representative on T-Mobile - is going live today, July 15th, and T-Mo already made it available in their online store for $250-$50 rebate.

A few days ago, we also pointed out that the phone is also available from Wirefly for $50 cheaper than T-Mo - $149.99.

Well, it looks like today Amazon.com followed suit and is now offering the Vibrant at the same cool $149.99 delivered for free in 2 days. Amazon is also waiving the activation fee of $35 for new customers. Not a bad deal, and you know Amazon's legendary customer service is there to quickly solve any issues you might have.

Verizon Ships 170 Droid X Devices A Week Early, Advise Customers Not To Activate Until July 15th Launch Date

As you undoubtedly already know, the Droid X is set to officially launch next week, on Thursday July 15th. A lucky few who have already pre-ordered the phone, however, may be getting it a week early according to an internal Verizon memo.

Employees at Verizon have been told to advise customers who call to activate their phone early that they have to wait until the July 15th launch date, as “all of the proper network provisions for the Droid-X device will not be in place until the official launch date”.

Even so, I’d still be excited if I was one of the lucky few receiving the device almost a week before the launch.
