Ouya Dev Consoles Have Finished Shipping, Company Teases UI And Unboxing Video

As we close out 2012 and move into the new year, all of the tech world is eagerly awaiting the arrival of one, unique product with bated breath and eager curiosity: Google Glass. But for those of us who don't have $1500 to shell out on prototypes of that thing (and a time machine to travel back to I/O '12 to order them), we're distracting ourselves with Ouya, the Android-based gaming console. As of right now, the company behind the platform has finished shipping 1,200 developer units out.

As a teaser for the rest of us, the company has also released the above unboxing video.

Google Provides Official Update On Nexus 7 Pre-Order Shipments

Just after giving the 8GB Nexus 7 "In Stock" status, Google has published an official update on the 7's pre-order shipping situation.  The statement, which should placate users who have felt in the dark about the status of their Nexus 7 orders, explains that all standalone 8GB Nexus 7 orders (without cases or other accessories) have been shipped, and that by the end of the day July 19th, all standalone 16GB orders placed through July 11th will be shipped as well (including upgraded overnight shipping).

Those who ordered their tablet with accessories (or a Nexus Q) should expect the 7 to ship this week with overnight shipping, with accessories potentially coming in separate shipments.

When we first discovered Slice, the app that scans your email for packages that you're waiting to be delivered, has updated to version 2.0 and brought a host of new features with it. For starters, if you use Hotmail, AOL, or iCloud as your primary email, you can now join in the fun. You can track outgoing packages by scanning tracking barcodes as well or entering the number manually, and filtering options have been improved.

The app also adds a new feature called "Thingerprint" which, aside from having a truly bizarre name, allows you to see how much money you've spent on what types of goods.

EVO 4G LTE Units Are Arriving In Consumers' Hands Already

While it may have taken a long time and a lengthy delay to get here, Sprint's variant of the HTC One X, the EVO 4G LTE, is finally landing in consumers' hands. XDA users in this thread are sharing photos to prove that they've received their EVO LTE units. So far, reports have come in confirming units in Ohio, Virginia, and New York. Folks on the West coast may find themselves waiting a little longer. On the other hand, when have shipping routes ever made sense to the layman?

Acer Halts Shipment Of Iconia Tab A510 Due To A Faulty Component, Confirms A700 Is On Track To Ship By June 11

A few hours ago, the Acer Germany page on Facebook (translated) posted an update stating that there was a fault with an important component in the A51x series of tablets. But Acer did not state which component failed to pass their quality control tests. Unfortunately, this means that there will be a delay in delivery of the Iconia Tab A510/A511 tablets, and Acer has been unable to confirm when the faulty component will be replaced.

Amazon has also stopped taking orders for the device as customers have reported that there could be something wrong with it.

Owners of the A510/A511 tablets who are concerned that they have a faulty device ought not to worry, as a recent comment by Acer on its Facebook page indicates that tablets that were already shipped passed their quality control tests.

Vodafail: The Story Of The Stolen Xperia Play Shipment In New Zealand Is Fake, Just A [Tasteless] Marketing Ploy

Earlier this morning, news broke of a horrible deed - the entire stock of Xperia Play phones was allegedly stolen from Vodafone NZ, leaving hundreds of giant-thumbed customers button-mashing nothing but air for the foreseeable future. We deliberately skipped this story, even though it was spreading like fire, but what happened next prompted me to grab my pen keyboard and give this crime some coverage.

Remember those missing devices? Yeah, never happened. The whole event that started with last night's post on Vodafone's own Facebook page, later augmented with video footage of the alleged attack, was a carefully orchestrated stunt by the company.

The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer is quickly becoming the darling of the Android tablet world. With all the specs (dual-core, Android 3.0, keyboard dock - the list goes on) and a price tag at $400, this may just be the one Honeycomb tablet to rule them all. Alas, when a great product and a great price meet, there is great demand - and when there is great demand and a less-than-great supply level, there is a high level of dejected customers leaving their electronics retailers with empty hands.

The low shipment volumes of the Transformer have been news for the last couple of days, with as low as 10,000 units being moved per month.

HTC To Launch Two Bigger, Better Flyer Tablets With Honeycomb This Summer?

There's not a whole lot of specificity that comes with this information, but at the same time it seems pretty likely that HTC isn't putting all of its tablet eggs into the Flyer and EVO View 4G basket. DigiTimes is reporting that HTC is planning to release two Honeycomb tablets bearing the Flyer moniker later this summer, both with larger displays than the incoming Gingerbread version.

This doesn't come as much of a surprise, as the Galaxy Tab and other small, non-Honeycomb tablets have demonstrated that consumers want a device with a bigger screen and a proper tablet operating system. HTC, it seems, is going to be last of the major manufacturers to enter the Honeycomb tablet foray.

Notion Ink Adam Pre-Order Shipments Delayed By FCC Certification

Red tape seems to be getting in the way of Notion Ink's plans to ship initial pre-order customers' Adam tablets today. An email sent to us by one of those pre-order customers this morning indicates that it is the FCC's certification process which has put the brakes on the Adam's release:

Greetings from the Notion Ink Support Team!

This e-mail is to inform you that your shipment is ready, but we are awaiting final FCC and CE numbers which are to be printed on the device before we can ship them to you. The Holiday season in December pushed the administrative work and it will be cleared within this week.

Update #4: If Notion Ink is planning to unveil Adam at CES, why are they not listed in the CES exhibitors list?

Update #3: Rohan Shravan has posted, in response to many users' concerns, some information on his blog regarding many of Notion Ink's policies, shipping costs, and warranty.

Rohan has also stated that on December 18th, a video demonstration of the Adam will be posted for all to see.
