AT&T Popping The Top Off Of Its LTE Network On September 18th

It looks like AT&T is finally ready to take the wraps off its long-awaited LTE network in an attempt to compete with Verizon's powerhouse 4G LTE, which now covers over half of the country. Ma Bell's speed-demon network will start its plan for world conquest in Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio, TX; Atlanta, GA; and Chicago, IL on September 18th, with plans of introducing another 10 LTE markets before the end of 2011.

We recently caught a glimpse of what AT&T's LTE is capable of thanks to some leaked shots of the upcoming HTC Holiday, which could end up being the first LTE enabled smartphone to land on the network.

Acer Iconia Tab A501 Coming To AT&T's HSPA+ Network On September 18th, And It's Actually Reasonably Priced

We were all left with a bad taste in our mouths after hearing AT&T's pricing for the recently announced HTC Jetstream, but if you're looking for a  solid Honeycomb tablet with always-connected mobile access then check out Ma Bell's latest offering: the Acer Iconia Tab A501.

Under the hood, it's the exact same device as the A500, with the inclusion of an HSPA+ radio. The nuts and bolts of it are:

  • 10.1-inch 1280x800 display
  • 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 5MP and 2MP cameras
  • SD card, microUSB, and microHDMI ports
  • Android 3.2

The real sweet spot for this tablet, though, is the pricing.

AT&T's Xperia Play 4G Hitting Shelves On September 18 For $50

Sony Ericsson's Xperia Play, also known as the Playstation Phone, will be hitting AT&T's HSPA+ network on September 18th for a mere $50, finally allowing gamers rocking Ma Bell to let go some of that envy towards VZW. This portable gaming/smartphone hybrid sports a 4-inch screen, 1GHz processor, 512MB RAM, 5MP rear shooter, and Android 2.3 out of the box; what really makes this device unique, though, it its slide-out Playstation gamepad and exclusive gaming content.

Aside from the already low pricetag, the Play will come bundled with the multimedia dock and MC100 music cable, adding even more allure to this deal.
