If you're still looking to get your hands on a Sprint-branded Galaxy Nexus, Amazon has a deal for you – Amazon Wireless is offering the Galaxy Nexus right now for $49.99 if you open a new account. This is a great discount, cutting a full $100 off the last deal we saw.

It's worth noting that customers looking to activate a new line or upgrade an existing line can expect to pay $99.99 or $149.99 respectively for the Now Network's debut LTE device.

Update: It should come as no surprise, but Samsung has responded to Apple's attack on the Galaxy S III, saying it will "demonstrate to the court that the Galaxy S III is innovative and distinctive."

Apple and Samsung's ongoing litigation in California federal court has become something of a three-ring circus. Back in December, the presiding judge denied Apple's request for a preliminary injunction against a wide variety of Samsung products.

As promised, AT&T has gone live with pre-orders for the hotly-anticipated Samsung Galaxy SIII, which was just confirmed for the carrier three days ago. Customers are now free to stake claim to the phone that may indeed change the way Android phones are sold in the US. AT&T is the second carrier to officially launch pre-orders, following Sprint. Verizon's pre-orders are also expected to begin today.

Here in the United States, we've all been witness to an historic "second" this week (as opposed to a first) in the unified launch of the Galaxy S III, untainted by carrier modification, on all four of the major US wireless providers (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile).

Now, you'll probably say "but David, the Galaxy S III is the first smartphone to launch as the same model on all four major carriers!" and you'd be right.

Five major U.S. carriers announced yesterday that they would be carrying the Galaxy S III: Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and U.S. Cellular. While pre-orders are already happening for some, Best Buy decided to get in on the action as well: it's now taking pre-orders for the the Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint variants of the device.

You can pre-order your Galaxy S III for one of the aforementioned carriers at all Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile locations beginning immediately.

If you're looking for an affordable phone on AT&T's LTE network and like to keep things as eco-friendly as possible, then look not further than the Samsung Galaxy Exhilarate.

The Exhilarate is the newest device to run on AT&T's growing 4G LTE network, and offers decent mid-range specs:

  • 4" Super AMOLED display
  • 1.2GHz dual-core Scorpion processor
  • 5MP rear shooter with 720p video capture, 1.3MP front camera
  • 4G LTE/HSPA+
  • Android 2.3

It's an eco-friendly device, too: its rear casing is made from 80 percent recycles post-consumer waste and it includes a low-load, energy-efficient charger that will sound an alert with the battery is fully charged.

While your average "drop test" video isn't necessarily a source for scientific durability analysis, they can be entertaining to watch. Somehow, seeing expensive devices mercilessly dropped onto unforgiving concrete or pavement feels slightly gratifying, while the process simultaneously educates viewers on the dangers of careless phone handling.

Today, Android Authority uploaded a drop test video which saw Samsung's Galaxy SIII (by all accounts the phone of the moment) and Apple's iPhone 4S faced off against an expanse of hard concrete.

We already know that the Galaxy S III is coming to five major carriers in the U.S., and T-Mobile just dropped all of its plans into the public lap. Here's the skinny.

Aesthetically, this device not only looks identical to the international version, but also like what we've seen from the other U.S carriers thus far. Internally, T-Mo's GSIII will also match the other U.S. variants of the device: 4.8" 720p Super AMOLED HD display, 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4, 2GB of RAM (!!), and Android 4.0.

The news that one of the hottest phones of the year, the 4.8" Samsung Galaxy S III, is coming to five major U.S. carriers only just hit the wire a few minutes ago, and well, well, well, what do we have here?.. Why, it's the Galaxy S III on Verizon Wireless, in its blurry flesh.

Since Samsung didn't send out any carrier-specific device photos and just regurgitated the pictures of the international version we've all seen hundreds of times, we're at the mercy of the carriers to see just how they bastardize (or leave untouched) the outer shell of each variant.
