T-Mobile is getting in on the Memorial Day sale action with a pretty sweet promotion for customers looking to pick up a new Samsung S6 or S6 Edge. During this weekend only, the Magenta Mavericks will double your storage for free, meaning you can get a 128GB phone for the price of a 64GB one, or the 64GB option for the price of a 32GB device. That's a savings of $80-100 and a pretty solid promotion. Read More
We've seen the Wi-Fi model, the T-Mobile model, and the AT&T model updated with Android 5.0, now it's time for the Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 to get its turn. The update info for the SM-T807V has appeared on Samsung's support site, which means that the update should (hopefully) start going out to customers before the end of the day. Read More
Samsung has a new activity sharing service for Android, and you can try the beta version right now. Well, actually... you probably can't. Flow Beta requires you to have two newer Samsung devices to send activities between. If you don't the requisite phones or tablets, Flow won't do anything. Even if you do, Flow still doesn't accomplish much in its present form.
It seems like ages ago that Apple and Samsung finished duking it out in court over Samsung's "borrowing" from Apple's early iPhone designs. However, the $930 million judgement against Samsung was just the beginning of the legal tussle. This whole time the lawyers have still been racking up billable hours, and now a US appeals court has reversed a big chunk of the damages saying Apple's trademarks on the look of the original iPhone aren't valid. Did you know that your choice of color when buying a cell phone is indicative of your personality and character traits? No, really, it's totally based on real psychology - it's not just made up. Well, let me be more precise: I'm not just making it up. "World-renowned British Psychologist Dr. Donna Dawson" might just be having a go at you when she describes the exclusive new colors for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Read More
Samsung is quite chummy with Marvel lately, and that apparently goes beyond cases and (very ugly) TouchWiz themes. The Samsung Electronics Twitter account has just posted a little teaser for an Iron Man edition Galaxy S6 Edge. That could either be really cool or really gaudy.
Every time Samsung releases a new high-profile phone or tablet, it also makes a bunch of pricey first-party cases to go with it. And why not - they're high-margin accessories that get stocked by the likes of Best Buy and carrier stores, and most of the time they're actually pretty nice. But the first round of official cases for the Galaxy S6 Edge are showing some remarkable problems: they might actually be damaging the gadgets they're designed to protect. Read More
Samsung was early to the recent smartwatch craze, but its products haven't exactly sold like gangbusters. While Samsung has made an Android Wear watch, it seems more interested in moving forward with its Tizen-based Gear platform, and the new Gear SDK offers a lot of detail about that next device. It'll be round, but that's not the only thing we know.
The watch will have a 1.18-inch round display with a resolution of 360x360. Read More
When it comes to device skins, dbrand is my go-to company. After going hands-on with some of the company's Nexus 6 offerings back in February, I was extremely impressed with the quality - both materials and precision cutouts. I highly recommend checking them out if you're interested in giving your gadgets a new look. (And if you missed out on the Nexus "X" symbol promotion, well, I'm sorry.)
