These days a $600 smartphone isn't exactly a deal, it's where the high-end portion of the market transitions into the super-expensive area that most people won't buy (unless they get sweet-talked by a carrier "payment plan"). So if you've balked at Samsung's stratospheric $800 asking price for the Galaxy S7 Edge, now's your chance to grab an unlocked version of the phone - with dual SIM capability, no less - for a much more reasonable price. One eBay vendor is selling them for $589.99. That's the lowest we've seen for this model.
There was some stiff competition for alternative launchers in the early days of Android, but now thanks to tireless dedication and improvement from the developer, the excellent Nova Launcher stands at the top of the pile. Nova has been one of our favorite apps since it debuted way back in the Ice Cream Sandwich days, and while it's quite serviceable as a free app, the $4.99 upgrade to the Prime version is worth every penny. Luckily, you won't actually have to pay every penny today: it's on sale for 99 cents. Read More
Looking for a handheld action camera on the cheap? You'll struggle to do better than this HTC Re on eBay, just $69 and brand-new in the packaging. The Re may not support ultra-high resolution or exceptional bitrates, but it has a reasonably well-rated Android app, an exceptionally wide-angle lens, is waterproof, and a shape that makes it easy to just hold and capture. It also has a standard mounting thread on the bottom if you want to set it up for more passive capturing of your action.
32GB Nexus 5X. $274.99. Need I say more?
I do, in fact, because this is a blog, and blog posts should have words, and I am going to put some here. The 32GB Nexus 5X is on sale for $274.99, which while not technically the cheapest we've ever seen it, it's damn close, and definitely the cheapest we've seen the North American H790 model without requiring a simultaneous Project Fi signup (where it costs $250). We've spotted the 32GB H791 international version for $249.99 previously, but that phone lacks T-Mobile band 12 support.
This is the proper 'Murican handset with full T-Mobile - and thus, Project Fi - Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T support, AKA the one you want if you're living stateside. Read More
Ten cents. What can you buy at the store with ten cents? Nothing. You can't even buy a Tootsie Roll Pop for that price, those suckers cost at least a quarter now! You might not be able to buy any physical goods for a dime these days, but today you can buy an awesome game with mechanized warfare for that price. The game I'm talking about is Epic War Tower Defense 2 by developer AMT games.
Epic War TD 2 has been out for a little over a year now, so it's likely this sale is a just a way for the developer to drum up interest for a new title by getting naïve tech bloggers to write about the steep discount in an... Read More

The first gen Asus ZenWatch is $99.95 today on Amazon. It's been that price before, and it will likely be that price again. The silver & rose gold model with a tan strap is the only color option.
For someone still on the sidelines wondering what this whole Android Wear craze is all about, this is a solid entry into the world of wearables. The ZenWatch sports a 1.2 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM along with a square 1.63" 320 x 320 AMOLED touchscreen with Gorilla Glass 3. It's also dustproof and splashproof and has a heart rate sensor, which was oddly not included in the second gen watch (probably because people complained the one in the first gen watch isn't all that good). I'm a fan of microSD card slots. I know, I know, there's absolutely no reason to have this debate right now. You either prefer to have expandable memory or you don't particularly care.
If you're on #TeamGiveMeMoreCheapStoragePlease, then now may be a good time to head over to Amazon. Read More
