The 5X may not be as flashy or as powerful as its more refined big brother, the 6P, but it sure is a heck of a lot cheaper. Google already is selling the phone at a pretty good price, but today you can pick up both models for $20 less on eBay.
Buydig via eBay has the 32GB 5X marked down to $330 and the 16GB model for only $280. That's a low enough price to make my fingers itch. Seriously, I'm very tempted to take the plunge and buy myself a cheap slab of Marshmallow.
Here's a quick reminder of the phone's upper mid-range specs for those of you who haven't memorized them already. Read More
Quick Charge 3.0 and USB Type C will be featured on many, if not all, of the new crop of Android flagship devices. Those are sweet new technologies to look forward to, but most of us will still be using a gadget with QC 2.0 and MicroUSB charging for quite some time. Instead of pining for new tech, you can celebrate the fact that QC 2.0 batteries and chargers are now more affordable than ever thanks to the promise of change on the horizon.
Choetech has a couple of sweet QC 2.0 charging devices available for killer low prices right now. Read More
Remember when everyone was up in arms because the Nexus 6P and 5X were so expensive outside North America? It turns out that Google has decided to quietly fix that, at least in some parts of the world. On the Google Store, the Nexus 5X, which initially launched for €479 and then came down to €429 in the Eurozone, is now starting at just €349, while the Nexus 6P, priced at €649 back in September, now begins at €549. The prices in Italy are still €50 more expensive for every model than the rest of the Eurozone, and the price increments for each storage tier are the same as before. Read More
Cars. Houses. Contracted electronics. These are items for which the old "buy one, get one" scheme rarely works. But since T-Mobile has ostensibly given up cellular contracts, it makes a sort of sense... at least if you're buying phones for more than one person on the same plan. The carrier is now offering a buy one, get one 50% off discount on all versions of the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy Note 5, the LG G4, and the LG V10, as well as the latest two generations of iPhones.
All colors and capacities sold by T-Mobile are eligible, and you can purchase up to 12 phones at a time(!) and apply the discounts. Read More
Even though it's been out for a while now, the LG G Watch Urbane is still one of the most premium Android Wear devices you can buy. Its normal price currently sits around $250, but today you can pick one up for just $200 on BuyDig via eBay. We posted this deal a couple of weeks back, but that was just days after the holidays and I expect that some of you were too broke or hung over to notice. You're welcome.
The device ships free anywhere in the US and retail tax is only charged in the state of New Jersey. Read More
If you want frequent Android updates but don't have the cash to pick up a 5X or 6P, then the Nexus 5 may still be your best option. Right now you can buy a refurbished 16GB model for just $150 on Daily Steals. The 32GB model is also available for just $30 more.
Shipping is free and no tax is added to the sale price. Both black and white options are available in each capacity. If you want a different (notice I didn't say new?) Android phone, and have less than two bills to spend, there aren't many better options out there, especially for someone who enjoys rooting, flashing, and customizing their phone. Read More
We've been seeing some fantastic prices on last year's Nexus phone leading up to and following the launch of the 2015 devices. This is almost the cheapest yet: $249.99 gets you the Nexus 6, which is still very much a powerful and desirable phone, from Amazon. This is a new device, with the stock 32GB of storage and either the blue or white color option, plus a standard warranty. It's a full $400 off of the retail price at which the Nexus 6 launched a little over a year ago.
If you need a little more storage, the 64GB model is also available at $299.99, though at the moment it's only being sold in the white version. Read More
OnePlus has been visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future, and they've been convinced to mend their frustrating ways. Either that, or the sales of the OnePlus 2 (which has been widely criticized for its hardware shortcomings) have been less than stellar, and the company no longer needs its rationing system in order to fill demand for the device. Starting on Saturday, the OnePlus 2 will be available for purchase without jumping through the hoops of the invitation system. It's a friggin' holiday miracle. The cheaper OnePlus X isn't getting the same treatment, but you will be able to buy one without an invite from December 5-7. Read More
Flash memory comes in many different forms. You have microSD cards. You have full size ones. Then there are flash drives. There's expensive, and then there's cheap. I like the latter. If you do too, now's a good time to hit up Amazon. Read More
MicroSD cards are nice. They take a tiny amount of internal memory and supplement it with however much space you need to store whatever you want. And those little plastic squares happen to go on sale all the time.
Today you can get Sony flash memory on Amazon for super cheap. Read More
