[Update: $199 ($100 Off) On Amazon] Deal Alert: Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX Just $230 ($70 Off) With Contract At Wirefly

As promised, the ultra-impressive DROID RAZR MAXX went on sale today, but for a premium price of $300 with a new two-year contract at Verizon. Not so, says Wirefly, who is charging just $230 for the thin-yet-juiced phone.

What's so special about the MAXX? It's nearly the same as the DROID RAZR, but with one major difference: it's nearly 2mm thicker (for a total thickness of a still-svelte 9mm) to accommodate a whopping 3,300 mAh battery (versus 1,780 in the non-MAXX version).

Definitely sounds like a winner, especially for power users and road warriors. Hit up the source link below to see the product page yourself or to order the phone.

[Deal Alert] Verizon Galaxy Nexus Just $99.99 For New Customers At Amazon Wireless

Google's latest wunderphone, the Galaxy Nexus, normally runs a pricey $300 on contract when purchased through Verizon. Luckily, competition brings down prices - sometimes dramatically - and it's on sale now at Amazon for just $99.99 with free 2-day shipping for incoming Verizon customers (it's still $259.99 for those who are upgrading). Quite the discount, and 100 bones for  such a mind-blowing device is quite the steal indeed.

In comparison, Wirefly is selling the GNexus for $230 for both new and upgrading customers. Thus, if you're heading to Verizon as a new customer, best to go through Amazon. Those looking to upgrade should head to Wirefly.

[Deal Alert] Screencast Video Recorder On Sale For $0.99 In Celebration Of 100k Downloads

Screencast Video Recorder has been a favorite of ours since its release, and has been featured in our own Top Android Apps Every Rooted User Should Know About and Best Of 2011 posts. Needless to say, we think this app is top notch, and I'm sure tons of other Android users would agree. Not only does it offer video capture with many features, but it has some pretty nice screenshot functionality as well.

The original price of this app is $3.99, and is definitely worth every penny. However, in celebration of 100,000 downloads, Media Solutions has knocked $3 off the original price, meaning you can snatch it up for just $0.99.

Amazon Gold Box Deal Alert: 32GB Lexar Class 10 MicroSD Card + Reader For $39.99 ($78 Off)

One of the best cards (go ahead, sort them by rating) you can get for your mobile device is on sale today on Amazon as part of their daily Gold Box discount program. I'm talking about the 32GB Lexar Class 10 microSD card that comes with a handy reader that plugs right into a full-size USB port and reads your microSD cards like a champ.

The main reason I wanted to point out this sale was that I own this very card, which I bought from Amazon back in June of '11. Except, I bought it for $90.35, and even at that price didn't regret getting it one bit (though I am feeling just a little bitter today).

[Update: Gone] [Deal Alert] Asus Transformer Prime 32GB For Just $400 + Free Store Pickup At HH Gregg

Update: Looks like it was a pricing error, as the listing has been pulled. Bummer, dude.
The tour de force Asus Transformer Prime (which I reviewed in early December and came away highly impressed by) is listed at HH Gregg for just $400 - that's both in store (if you can find it one available, anyway) and online, too. That may not seem like seem like a bargain for the uninitiated who are more accustomed to the $400 price tag of the original Transformer, but keep in mind that this is the newer, much sleeker, and much more powerful Tegra 3-touting Prime model, which normally retails for $500.

[Sale Fail] RIM Throws In The Towel And Starts PlayBook Fire Sale, Fails To Make Them Cheap Enough

When the tech world first heard of the BlackBerry tablet, it was greeted with a fair amount of optimism. It was thought that the very daring (for RIM) device could be just what the company needed to get out of its unabashed slump in popularity, particularly in the United States. In addition, rumblings that the device would be able to run Android Market apps (and actually can now) had Android and RIM fans alike excited for the possibilities of cross-platform development.

Unfortunately, consumers never really went after the PlayBook in droves, and sales went from less-than-great to absolutely terrible by Q3 of 2011, at just 150,000 units sold for that 3 month period.
